No one played a Strike and normally since train played the only Stop he'd get it, but even after selling his current item, he wouldn't have enough. So I'm going on to the next Stop bid card, which is Ransac AND turgy22 in the fifth round at 1 gem. The cards played up to that point are identical (they must have had the same idea):

Rules clarification: how is it handled when someone bids more than they can afford?
It seems kind of unfair that the item train is selling is only worth 1 gem, while I have to lose 5 gems worth of winnings before the rebid. Not to mention that after the rebid is over, if train wins, there's no way that he can afford the item. I'll check the previous threads on this one, but if you have an answer sooner, I'd appreciate it.

Yeah, I already asked EricBess (who ran this game previously and has access to the rules) when this started coming up. He said
If there's a tie, the players involved need to sell enough resources to pay for the item. If one cannot, then the other player who can sell enough gets it. If there are still two or more players who can sell enough, then there's a tie breaker round.
So according to that, train can't sell enough to pay 5 gems so he keeps his Beef Jerky. So turgy22 will win the item but still has to sell enough resources to pay for the 5 gems.
So we're moving on to Round 15 and train needs to tell me if he wants to bid on a new item or bid on one of the sold ones.
He's a busy guy so he hadn't gotten back to me on exactly what happens and you're right, it is sort of unfair, so here's my ruling:
