You open the door and find it to be very similiar to the room in which you dropped several hours ago. Oxagonal, with a door in each side.

No, it was octagonal too. There was a door for each compass direction (and here too). Sorry if I misstated that also.

Starting at the door to the right of you: You see a passageway go for about 15' and then bends slightly to the left.

Next door: You see a passage going for about 15' and then bends slightly to the right.

Next door: You see a passage going for about 25' and then bending slightly to the left.

Next door: You see a passage go for at least 30'.

Next door: You see a passage for at least 30'.

Next door: You see a passage go for at least 30'

Next door: You see a passage go for about 20' and then bends to the left.

You travel the 20' and turn slightly left and travel for 30' and then turn slightly right and travel 60' and come to a vast cavern. It stretches for 30' in front of you but the bulk of the cavern is to your left, where it seems to "narrow" to 20' Your light can't see the end of it to your left though.

In the corner straight ahead of you (again, about 30') seems to be a pile of cloth and leather.

*Cugel will carefully approach the pile (alone unless someone else absolutely insists on tagging along) and examine it for traps or monsters lurking in it or whatever.*

It appears no one insists on tagging along, although Kurik gets his bow ready to cover Cugel.

As Cugel advances toward the pile, three brown-furred rats with long snouts burst from the pile and race towards him. Cugel isn't surprised, but due to their quickness, they have the initiative for this round.

Round 1 - Creatures have initiative

They surround Cugel and attempt to bite him twice each, for a total of 6 bites/attacks. 2 of them penetrate his armor, drawing some serious blood.
