I looked again and found it. The reason I couldn't see it before was because it was marked as read. I didn't read it, but I guess the computer isn't able to know that...
I don't remember opening it either, but maybe some weird thing happened that caused me to open it and not read it. Or maybe it was just some fluke. I had one crash recently, but I don't think I had the CPA website open at the time. Well, at least the PM didn't disappear completely...

It probably marked it as read because of the time - even if you don't read threads or PMs, if you come back to the CPA after a while so the time of your "last visited" is updated, the unread threads are not counted as "new" anymore.

Sorry about the random discard; I had four cards in hand and threw a die to determine which one I would lose. That why the top card of my graveyard is a Mountain.
(Coincidentally, card #2 was a Mountain, so it doesn't make difference).

And on second thought, the time lapse thing doesn't seem to make sense. I just noticed that I have an still have an unread PM from last year: a draw from the duplicate sealed game with Darthferret. If it has stayed marked as unread all this time, shouldn't newer ones do the same?

Sort of untap, draw, we each play a Mountain. Then I'll tap out to play Goblin Ringleader (Goblin Warchief makes him cost 1 less).
