"Guards, wait outside while I check this out. Don't want to make Siphlin too nervous to sell me anything."

Thinking I will play the part of the regular buyer I enter the store.

I enter the store. I remeber stories of Black Robe Mages often visiting these places. I smile slightly -My ceremonial black robe will be perfect for acting as the buyer.- I think as I let my eyes adjust to the light around me.

when my eyes adjust enough (should be quickly since I'm used to the dimly lit swamps) I look around to see any details. Seeing If I see or smell any poisons familiar to me, and most importantly the poison in question.

"Ah... and would anyone have been in the room while the cup was in here? A guard or another steward, perhaps?

I enter the room so carelessly, as if I had just waken up from the most wonderful dream of my life. I have no clue what has just happened. A bit of psychic powers...and...

"...ok...who died?"

I got these visions of a murder. I couldn't help but wonder who could have been the victim. I ask myself what brought me to this place...I couldn't find an answer. I find myself entering this place which I'm completely unfamiliar with.

I look around for anyone to ask for the full story.

>>Rando, if there's anyone with a "full story", I wanted to be told to me, and what's my objective...etc.

Adar, who has by now had a bit more to drink than he should have, approaches the strange man and speaks, "Strange night, friend, they had just introduced the Princess, quite a looker, and then there was a dance and the King collapsed and some people were talking about poison and the exits were sealed. But then the strangest thing happens, the King gets back up and is escorted out of the room. But all these people who were around him start moving out like something is up. I know the look of death and I saw it in the King, but there he was walking out. All is not right in this castle friend, I suggest that you leave as I plan on doing."

"Hmmm. Dead yet alive. Interesting. Not unheard of." I close my eyes and recall few memories.

"Leave? ME!? <smirks> The king died, and then...relived. I'm kinda into finding out his secret. Even if it means...<coughs, and whispers>...killing him again..."

Rebrouge looks around watching out for guards.

>>Are there any? If not, I'll walk the way the king headed. If there's, let's have a chat.

*** I guess you're goal is the same as always, Rebrouge. Kill as many people as you can without getting your throught slit too many times :D ***

Personally, I thought vagabonds in this particular castle seemed to be a frequent occurance. I follow Caplon closely, paying particular attention to whether or not the pair splits up.

RXI just walks into the castle after having been in an all night clothing store to ask about the scarf he found outside, and is a little embaresed about the fact that he had thought it was rare, having found out that it was just a regular thing around here.

To Adar and Dorgath-
"Who is this? Oh, nevermind, I've heard of you. You must be Rebrouge. Ok, anyway, I found nothing outside city limits exept this old scarf. Can any of you guys see if there are magical powers embued into it?"

I eye the old scarf...

"Hmmm, how much does it worth...ya know?"

"I can't see if it has powers..."

I look around...

>>>Same question: any guards?

Many thoughts invade my mind as I try to search through myself as to why the heck I'm in this place that's so strange to me. It almost seems that I woke up here from a long, long sleep. Why here? My psychic mind has never betrayed me. I must have arrived here when I was in some sort of trance-mode, when I was completely disconnected with the actual reality. My unconscious drove me here for a reason, and I will even kill the innocent if I must to see why I'm brought here. I'm both filled with excitement, and anger. I'm on the edge of being very extreme to achive what I want. Surely, many limits will be pushed. Many, many...many lives will be lost.

...First, I need to know what I want. No one will stop me from getting to it. No guards...no allies. No one.

I try to calm myself down and enter yet another deep trance, to maybe search inside my unconsciousness, hoping to find a clue of whatever that is I desire. I also await more information from by-passers. (And Rando, of course.)

...has anyone else noticed...or do I seem to "curse" these RPGs? I mean, after we RPGers left the ol'MTGnews, I have never played another RPG. I think there's something about Rebrouge that strikes deep down and emotional fear inside Rando, that he becomes absent just the day before or after I begin the game...:)

Well, I can't play. Sorry. I really wish I can. Don't invite me anymore. 2 days have past, and Rando has been absent. I can't afford to play, then not play...and then play again...and then quit again.

Have fun!

***

Rebrouge leaves the place. After his long trance, he realized it's not this place he's after. It's not anything in this world, reality, or era even. He realized that his desires can only be fulfilled once he reaches the point in his life where he "awakens"...for he has been, and still, asleep...the awakening hour is far, far away...everything has been a dream and a nightmare...nothing is real...

My character is just not in the vicinity of yours, that's all. I just can't help you out.

Just stick around, I'm sure Rando will pull through after he feels safe getting on the Net :)

...sorry, I really can't. I was very hesitated when Rando asked me, because I always have a lot of work to do...but I thought I can, somehow, squeeze this RPG in. I even told Rando that I wouldn't be able to last for more than 3-4 weeks...I'm so busy right now, and it's only getting worse...so...I dunno...

**Damnit! I'm sorry people. Sinus infection, out most of last week. Still feeling down. Sorry DUke. If for any reason you feel like posting, your character could just be hanging around the castle. Once again, I appologize. I'm the cursed one when it comes to these RPG's. The next time I do one of these, if ever, I'm just going to do something simple and straingt forward.**

To Aarian -
Caplon darts doen the hall and into the doorway that the strange pair ducked into, with you following close behind. The room you enter seems to be a small parlor or sitting room. Al is quiet in here, without another person to be found.
You then notice that there is a bookcase in the back of the room that is pulled out from the wall a little.

To Deyja -
You enter the dim shop and hear a strange chime. You can not tell where the sound comes from. The front room of the shop is crowded with boxes and shelves and racks, each packed full of strange bottles, vials and flasks. At the back of the room is a tall counter and a doorway behind that. Out of the doorway shuffles a very tall, very thin man. His skin is so pale, it seems that he has not been out in the sun for 50 years. He has sunken, black eyes, a wrinked face and paches of white hair sticking out in clumps. "Hello," he says in a raspy, but friendly voice. "May I help you?"

To Dorgath and Roland -
The steward thinks to himself a moment. "The tables were set this afternoon by the kitchen scrubs. There are but two on staff tonight, if you would like me to fetch them."

To Adar and RXI (and Rebrouge?) -
The scarff is green and tattered, and seems to be made of some corse wool. It is stained and filthy. Oddly enough, it seems to smell of baked chicken!

To Dorgath -
The steward says, "Only those who sat at the head table were allowed to drink from that particular cask. It was a very rare, very expensive vintage."

I walk up to the counter.

"Yes, In this vial is a poison I am running out of. Can you refill it?

I pull out the vial and show it to him.

"So you do not know if the cup was left unattended after the table was set? Would these kitchen scrubs know? Please get them or direct us to where they might be."

"Tell me Caplon, is this place riddled with secret passages," I motion toward the bookcase, "pull it away and let's see what we have."

*** Daggertooth: LOL. I have several more murders to carry out and I'm just flat out of poison. Could you please help me? :D

To Deyja -
The old man gasps and begins walking to the door, speeking loudly, "How dare you sir! What makes you think I would have anything to do with such nefarious things?"
When he gets to the door, he looks outside. Seeing the king's guards, he quickly shuts and locks the door. Turning to you, he says, "Who are you sir, and why do you ask such questions?"

To Roland and Dorgath -
"Very well." says the steward. He quickly shuffles off to the back of the room and disapears through one of the doors. All the while, the party continues, with music and dancing.

After a few minutes, the steward returns. With him is a young boy of about 10 or 12, and the steward is pulling him along by the ear. The boy cowers when they get to you.

"This is Halfson." says the steward. "He was on duty this evening. The other who was also on, the apprentice cook called Steerton is no longer in the kitchen. I do not know where he has run off to."

To Aarian -
"Indeed." says caplon. "The king is...was fond of secrets and hidden potals and what such. He had so many built into this castle when he took rulership, that I do not even think that he knew all of them."

Caplon pulls back the shelf, revealing a thin passage behind. It is dark and dusty, and all is quiet inside.

"No offence to your King, but showing as much trust as he does while providing a means of sneaking about undetected, I'm a bit surprised something like this didn't happen a long time ago.

"At any rate, this appears to be a case of covert love rather than treason. As unpatriatic as that may be, there is only a slim chance that it is related to todays events. I doubt we could catch them if they fled through this tunnel regardless. If you happen to know where the tunnel leads, we might be able to catch up with them on the other side, but failing that, I would suggest that we bear this in mind and get back to the queen."
