I could care less one way or the other... initially I was hoping for a "familiar"... but they don't exist in Basic DnD.... so, we can kill the rat or not...

I do see by the map, that we've essentially finished this side of the first level (though I wonder about secret doors in that dead end hallway and along the walls of this room...

Patrick starts searching the walls for any signs of concealed or secret doors...

(Perks up at the sound of secret doors in the room and watches eagerly...)

Unfortunately, Si'Nat droops back down when Patrick is unable to finds anything secret

"If you are all done with this... room... I think we should go back to those stairs..."

Without even bothing to see if they even heard him, much less actually follow him, Raiser leaves and goes to the door that had the stairs behind them.

"Before we go down those stairs, shouldn't we make sure that there is nothin else up here that can trap us between a rock and a hard place? I don't know about you, but I would much rather be safe than sorry. (And while we are backtracking I can test the food on the rat! <evil laugh>)"

Bertrem awaits the group decision before leaving.

Karnage sighs.

"Bertrem, we already HAVE checked the full area. Lets move on. *guessing that Bertrem still has the food on him* And discard that filth you picked up in that last room. Else I shall have to force you to drop it by cutting your hands off."

If we indeed have explored everything, then let us proceed down the stariway, but I will not get rid of the food, because it intrigues me.

*Well, I think we should see what else there is to see on THIS level before we go down those stairs...there is another whole half of this level untouched by us as yet...but I'll go along with the group...*

(Yes, I hope I didn't get you guys confused with the map, but there is actually four places to go right now: The stairs and the door at the bottom, continuing south where you are, and the south and east passageways at the east portcullis back up near the top. Those aren't dead-ends, it's just that when you looked through, 30' is as far as torchlight goes.)

That was kinda what I thought....so...I will keep the food until we backtrack to where the rat was, then I wil pop in real quick, and if it is still there, try to feed/stone/kill it. Until then, will just keep the food in one of my sacks (that contains nothing else).
