Avenging Angel in the next edition. Avenging is the most important to me: it was my favorite White card back in the day, and I wish they bring her back. I loved that card.

I like too many cards to return, so I'll just stick with Avenging Angel, after all, I'm only the Guy from the other post.

Umm, those cards are still in print right now, so if you want them you can go and get them. Including them in 7th would only serve to prolong their availability.

I am painfully aware that I am in the minority here on the rules issue, and that our lengthy discussions on another board (in another lifetime) got us absolutely nowhere. I too, do not wish to rehash all those old discussions to the infinite boredom of everyone else here, and I'm sure I hear a collective sigh of relief when I say this.

However, my personal feelings on this issue haven't changed, and FoR DID ask, after all. ;)

As to the notion of returning to the basic set some of the old classics, well, take a look at the thread on Classic Creatures in this Forum. I think there's a whole lot of us that would like to see it happen, and I disagree with your point about Extended. That format has been combo heaven for a while now (even Wakefield's deck, if you think about it), so the notion of playing a creature like Serra Angel in Extended is crazy.

But that doesn't mean that, especially once Urza's rotates out, creatures like that WOULDN'T be playable in the new Type 2, and please don't try to tell me Sengir Vampire and Serra Angel are less balanced than Morphling, or Masticore.

I doubt anyone would buy that. :D

those cards are available now but I don't see myself getting them any time soon so I want to prolong their availability if in the future I do go back to buying cards :).

As I said, the only reason I could see the Serra and Sengir coming back is to reintroduce them in the Standard environment. That's pretty much it. All other reasons are pretty much nostalgic-driven (not that there's anything wrong with that, but objectively, it doesn't make for a good argument).

You'll also notice that a lot of people have differing opinions on what a "classic" creature is in the Classic Creature thread. Mother of Runes? A whole bunch of creatures Gizmo listed (only Viashino Sandstalker comes to mind). Some of them are pretty recent, not what I would call Classic (again, that's not to say they can't be included).

And no, I wouldn't call Serra and Sengir overpowered to Masticore and Morphling :).

I presented in an article submission awhile ago,
concerning what cards I would like to see in 7th
Edition. I tryed very hard to present a realistic base
set. One that I thought might be fun and interesting
for(us)the Casual player, yet not mess up the Pro-Tour
environment, that much. I would consider this my "wish"
list. A collection of cards that would be great to have
in the standard enviroment.

There's been a lot of debate over what "classic"
means. I'm not really sure what it is, but I think of it
as something the majority of us like to play with. The
only problem with this is, sometimes these cards are
unhealth for the environment. Should these be reprinted
probably not. Unless of course they give us, the casual
player, a unique collectors edition.

I don't have any of the answers, all I have is a collecting
of cards that I think are balanced and might make the
cut in 7th Edition.

*None of these cards have: Shadow, Trample,
Echo, Cycling, Banding, Buy-back, Cumulative Upkeep
Protection from a color or Rampage.
**I didn't put any Legends on the list either.
***You will also notice that some of the Rarity has
been changed.

My Updated 7th Edition card list:
(There are no Power 9 cards on my list.)

ARTIFACTS
COMMON(5)
Clay Statue
Coiled Tinviper
Lotus Petal
Mind Stone
Serrated Arrows
*Some would argue that Lotus Petal is "broken." I
believe that without Yawgmoth's Will and the various
combo decks to abuse it, there wouldn't be a need
to ban it from Type II. (opinion)

UNCOMMON(18)
5 Mirage Diamonds
Arcum's Whistle
Ashnod's Altar
Bottle Gnomes
Caltrops
Library of Leng
Mightstone
Mindless Automaton
Mystic Compass
Phyrexian Furnace
Phyrexian Hulk
Phyrexian Vault

Millstone(or Grindstone)
Phyrexian Colossus
Powder Keg
Primal Clay

Thran Lens
*I wonder if Sphere of Resistance , Helm of Possession and
Static Orb belong on this list. What do you think?

LAND
COMMON
4 Swamp with new art
4 Island with new art
4 Forest with new art
4 Mountains with new art
4 Plains with new art
*I like the Unglued art, but thats me.

UNCOMMON(8)
5 uncommon Mirage search lands
Arena
Quicksand
Stalking Stones
*I believe Arena would give the Green mage a
limited type of creature removal. Many of Greens
creatures are larger than the ones found in other
colors, giving them an advantage when using this
type of removal.
**I thought about listing the man-lands from Urza
Block, but Treetop Village has Trample and WoTC
current reprint policy excludes the usage of Trample
in the basic set.
***I'm not convinced Wasteland should be included in the
Basic set, because it hurts 4 and 5 color decks. This is
just my opinion of course, so its open for debate. (I think
they give us Dust Bowl so they would not have to reprint
Wasteland.)

RARE( 12)
Adarkar Waste
Brushlands
Caldera Lake
City of Brass
Karplusan Forest
Pine Barrens
Reflecting Pool
Salt Flats
Scabland
Skyshroud Forest
Sulfurous Springs
Underground River
*Since Dual land will never be reprinted, I believe we
should have at the very least, all the lands the function
in a similiar way.
**I would love to see Kjeldoran Outpost, Volrath's Stronghold
and the Urza Block legendary lands return, but it won't happen
because they are just to powerful.

Zur's Weirding
*Ok, but is the Stroke broken without all the infinite
mana tricks to support it? Please don't answer that.
Its a strong card and someone will abuse it but, I'd
like to think we could have a few good cards in base
set.
**?What good is LoA without other good cards to
support it? If they do reprint it, I hope they include
several other Merfolk.

I'm looking for it to be a good revision. There are really no particular ards I feel NEED to be in it since I only play casually, but it would be nice to be able to easily get my hand on a Mox or two.
