BB, you did notice that the Phalanx is banded with Brassclaw Orcs, right? You only mention blocking the Phalanx...

He has to specifically say he's blocking the Phalanx or the Mantle triggers, even if the band is blocked as a whole.

I'm just making sure you don't have any responses duringt Declare Blockers. When I ask "Dmg on the stack", I'm saying I don't have anything to do and need you to confirm the same or do your effects :)

So the Orcs dmg is on the Homarid and the Phalanx's dmg is on the Soldier. 4 dmg is on the Phalanx and 1 dmg on the Orcs.

Dmg resolves?

Prevent the next 2 dmg to the Homarid using the medic. Remove 3 counters from the thorn thallid to do 1 to the orc. Soldiers & Orc die? I'll have a swamp and a forest untapped...
