Sorry, I can't see Heed th Mist as a "very strong uncommon." With Diving Top it maybe good...but...what else?

You should be sorry! J/k.

There are tons of playable cards that setup the top card in the library and/or play with the top card revealed. Most of them are not Standard, but I'm not necessarily referring to standard.

Scroll Rack
Brainstorm
Future Sight
Soothsaying
Sylvan Library
Long-term Plans (which isn't a great card by any stretch)

It fits right into a Kaboom!/Erratic Explosion builds in a painfully effective fashion.

Well, there were those cards w/ intentionally huge casting costs from the Onslaught Block that would go well - especially w/ the aforementionned Divining Top (or even Vampiric Tutor). It has potentialy to be a sick little puppy.

The land enchants are nice because they turn normal mana sources into critters that can really hurt people...it could even make Green weenie decks competitve again (without using those annoying Elves).

Just that when it comes to Sorcery speed card drawing in Blue, it's hard to beat Concentrate. Heck, anyone who has tried Petals of Insight will not easily concede to any "potential" Heed the Mist may or may not have. I am personally not a fan of Concentrate because it is a Sorcery, but Petals of Insight can effectively win games later in the game, and with Divining Top in play, it just makes Heed the Mist look silly. And it is silly. If you have a deck polluted with many high costing cards what are you going to do with them all when you draw many of them in your opening hand or, say, when you draw a good number of them with Heed? I think my standard discard deck would have a field day with a deck that silly.

As for the Enchant-Lands, I love them. It's unfortunte that the Black one so far is the worst one. I love the White one, and the Blue one isn't bad. The Red one...I will hate it when played against me. Just scarry.

You can make use of all those fatties through Dream Halls and Pyromancy. I for one intend to heavily tweak my Kaboom deck to use the new blue timetwister Sway of Stars, and Heed the Mists. Probably using both Scroll Rack and Top to stack my deck. I'd love to use Eyes of the Watcher, but I just haven't been able to squeeze him it in yet.

Those enchant lands are pure evil. I love'm.

I have to say, the photorealism on the guy's face in Heed the Mists is awesome! It also goes well in direct contrast to the cartoony look of the spirits talking to him. Absolutely lovely quality and creative artistry! I wish they did more artwork like this.

I read the article. Whatever. It Doesn't Matter...whether the opponent is playing creatures or not. This is still a 5/4 nasty-nasty that regenerates. For only 6 mana. I don't remember anything like it in recent history. And if the opponent is playing creatures? Well...god bless.

There are also other ways to abuse his Ninjitsu: CIP creatures. Ravenous Rats, Nekrataal, and Chittering Rats. Even Gravedigger if you're like that. Let's not mention the nasty possibilities if we mix it up with Green or other colors.

Nekrataal is particulary great friends with Ink-Eyes...they're made for each other. He destroys. Opens the way for war. Ink-Eyes posses him, and takes whatever creature there is to take. And if there isn't...well, 5 damage has just been dealt. A match made in heaven. Or in hell, you decide.

Adding Distress and Wrench Mind or Waking Nightmare...coupled with Devour in Shadow and Echoing Decay...and you have game.

The more I think of how evil Ink-Eyes is going to be, the more I like it.

I. Need. Ink-Eyes.

I prefer his test name: Pink-Eye, Servant of Conjunctivitis.

This guy is pretty solid. His ability is nothing new (Scion, Bone Dancer), but the Ninjitsu and Regeneration add a tasty little twist.

All you need in Ninjitsu to work once for him to be extremely effective.

With all this talk about Ninjas, why not use stuff like:

Escape Artist

Metathran Elite

Phantom Warrior

Guaranteed to slip in a Ninja at least once. Maybe splash a Crystal Shard or two to bounce your ninja's back in hand, or an Evacuation if that's more to your liking. Best thing about these unblockable weenies is that they’re cheap. Add a Lightning Greaves into the mix just to make sure they're hasty like and we've got ourselves MAGIC!

Hi, I’m a stupid unblockable blue weenie *POOF* Ha-Ha sucker! I’m really a blood drinking, demon worshipping Ninja! And I’ve come to make claim to your eternal SOUL!
I'm not to sure ahboot the rulings on Ninjitsu. Does it actually target the creature that was unblocked? It doesn't say target creature. I’d be bummed if the Lightning Greaves gig didn’t work out.

Ninjitsu does not target the unblocked creature. Likewise, a creature that has protection from creatures, or say, protection from all colors, can still be used to sneak in a Ninja. Not that any of this would give the Ninjas any credit in my book...they're still not worthwhile. And the one that's worthwhile so far, Ink-Eyes, is good because, Ninjitsu or not, it's one nasty rat that I'm content in just simply casting...

Eon Hub & Vedalken Orrery were at least a bit usefull. I understand they had to make this one with the legendary theme, but it's just too expensive and risky.

Why use it anyway?! Maybe the 2 coming sets will give some legendary cards that would benefit greatly from having several in play at the same time, but I doubt it will be worth putting an extra artifact in your deck.

Meh. by the way, this is the first BoK card which I find unexcited :)

Why the hell do people keep referring to Ink Eyes as HE?!?

Look at the art. Ink Eyes is a FEMALE rat. SHE is quite a slutty one, at that. Which is sad. Why must powerful female warriors in fantasy always be gigantic ho-bags?

Riiiight, because now is the time for...(are you ready for it?)...FURRY PORN!!!!! (cover your eyes, oh ye with no access to barf buckets)

Seriously, they actually pointed out the slutty outfit in the Meet the Betrayers story. Go read it. Its like they're sitting there at WotC HQ just slapping each other on the backs and giggling over this crap.

Yes, I've gone on a tangent here. But come on, how can you not be at least a little ticked off that WotC is serving us constant furry porn? This is way lame.

I pine for the days when the geek porn was actual women, like that Elvish Ranger and loose-top Serra Angel. Oh, how sad those babes are gone. Oh, wait....that was out loud, wasn't it?!?

Ho-bags huh? Well, easy answer: the same reason why many find Elves so interesting: because Elves are ho-bags in their essence, males, females, and shemales alike. This game has an imbedded culture of lifelessness, kids who have yet to see the light of day, "pre-adults" who seem to be stuck in their pre-teens, and adults who can't function very well with men, women, and animals, too. What better way to amuse the subconscious instincts of these people then to satisfy their libido with a wanna-be prostitute as, say, a Serra Angel? Or dominatrix wanna-be, suggestively fetish Ink-Eyes.

Basically, it's for the same people who "get off" porn or, for that matter, live on it...

In case anyone is interested, www.mtgsalvation.com now has a nearly complete spoiler for Betrayers up, with at the very least the name of every card in the set, and only missing about 10-15 spoilers.

Mirror Gallery is a neat card, but man would it be difficult to play. If someone Disenchaturilizes, they likely get a 3-for-1 on your, possibly more.

And then the seemingly effective protection methods (Leonin Abunas, Darksteel Forge, Slobad) don't fit the Legends theme you'll be rocking.

All that said, I am so tempted to slot this thing into my Krark's Thumb deck.

Mirror Gallery - if there are 2 of the same Legendary on one side and a third one on the other side and Mirror Gallery is disenchanted, what happens and why?

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
Something bugs me about cards that mention how a rule of the game won't apply (Relentless Rats, Mirror Gallery).

Crackdown, if the Mirror is Disenchanted, all of the legends in play that are there in multiples die simultaneously. This is a state-based effect, or something similar...
