The problem with that is that the person still might not feel that he/she is doing anything wrong and that everyone is "misunderstanding" him/her, and/or he/she takes great offense, and/or he/she decides to stay just to be "ornery" and contrary.

For some odd reason, I seem to remember WOTC saying that with very few exceptions, they were trying to get away from using -X/-X counters. That's why the Phantoms are worded the way they are... <shrug> Nothing against what you're trying to say, just an odd bit of memory :)
