Ditto... Well, I'm thinking of a black/blue or black/green deck mainly to go anti-threshold (from my thread a couple of weeks ago) so going artifacts would probably be the best for me. The Irisdescent Angel just happens to be in the threshold deck I'm going against.

I don't think the Warlord sucks too bad; I used it back in Revised days. It's not too good in a tourney setting as there were better 4 cc creatures and red didn't have a lot of quick ways of making lots of creatures (now, using it as the "general" of a goblin army and using Goblin Warrens might...

Well, since the caster would be probably be on the losing side of life, it would be a reset for him. If his opponent is already ahead in life, this could set him back :)

My feeling is that because you were the first to have "decent" articles (in his view) in a while, he thought you had potential but since you've decided to stay with us, you've lost it. :)

I'm not sure if you're answering the question, Isty... it looks like a combination of whether the cards are in flavor, whether they'll be good for decks in general, whether yo'd like to play it... is that so? There isn't a consistent way in how you're voting for these cards?

I agree with Jigglypuff's remarks, although perhaps the life thing is intentional with negatives, punishing a player if he has more than 20 life but wants to cast the spell. But if not, the "each player's life is set to 20" is good enough.

I think it's too cheap, especially with green's ability to make lots of tokens (Saprolings, squirrels) AND with the untargetable ability. Keldon Warlord is RR2 for just the "grow" ability (although I can't remember it's initial p/t). But of course, I have no suggestions on how to "make it...

I'm just curious... how do you guys vote for these cards? Is it by whether the candidates are "suitable" or in flavor for a basic set? Whether you like the cards in YOUR deck? Whether you hate seeing them on the opposite side of the table? Other? I tend to go with if I'll find the card...

I would hope the plot would be a new one and not a familiar one or one using familiar characters. Then (hopefully) the majority would not have pre-set notions on how the characters should be.
