It might be easier now, at least with green, with Blastoderm, Wild Mongrel, and Basking Rootwalla floating around as commons. But I think there's such a wider pool today than "back in the day" that making an all commons deck that's fairly presentable is possible :)

Well, if Goblin Warrens was considered a U1, that was pretty much a "rare" when they were doing U3, C5, C3, etc... what was weird was when they no longer made artifacts common, so if you got "lucky" charms before as commons (as an example), you got them as uncommons. That was a bit of a waste...
