Well, I'm thinking hydrogen and atomic could be the same, I'm not sure... but I think the Manhatten Project started with the hydrogen bomb, moved to the atomic for the end of the war, and it's been refined to nuclear (I think it has to do with which atoms are being split to provide the blast).

It's different stages of lethality... hydrogen, atomic, and nuclear progressively do more damage.

Slight correction: The US has used atomic bombs before. Not nukes (except in testing, I guess).
