I know a guy who traded a Shivan Dragon for a CoP: Red.

I am way to ashamed of the worst trade I ever did to ever tell people. It was a rare for a common though.

lol. THe worst trade I ever made was when I traded away a wrath and a prosperity for a SCALED WURM! I didnt even know it was common! Man, I like the card but I like wrath alot better...

I think this maybe should be in off topic, I don't know though, not quite sure what this thread is about.

As for my worst trade, I think it was three savannas for: two shivans, one in bad condition, a mind over matter, and some other stuff. Now I only trade dual lands for other dual lands.

Or the time I traded three bops away, can't remember what I got, but it wasn't worth it. Three rares I know, from saga or a different new set, definitely not as good. Oh well, I'm not bitter.

And then there were the times that I traded easy 'cause I thought the recipient would realize I was doing them a favor....

When Mirage first came out, I was all gung-ho for Dragons. I love dragons. I love em so much that I traded a hammer of bogardan and a Celestial Dawn for a Mist Dragon before I knew the power of the Hammer.

I could just kick myself sometimes. On the other hand, Mist Dragon does kick ass ...

The worst trade I ever made was back when I first started playing. I traded a Juggernaut for an Apprentice Wizard(4th edition, if it had been from the dark the trade wouldn't have been nearly as bad)

Antiquities had JUST come out.
I had no money to buy any packs.

I traded this Shivan Dragon I had won off my friend for some cards. (I didn't know that they were common, but hey, there you go.)

No big loss. I mean, it was marked, what with that funny black border and all.

Yes, that would be a Beta Shivan Dragon. For some Antiquities commons.

I check commonality now.

When I first started playing during Revised, I traded a Tropical Island for I think some Lightning Bolts and maybe a Granite Gargoyle. I didn't think it was bad at the time because I only had a starter and couple boosters and was going red/green/white but overall I guess the trade sucked.

When Tempest was new (Fall of '97) I opened a pack at my local game shop, it was a well honed skill for the veterans of the shop to lurk around seeking ways to take advantage of newbies <me>. A stupid artifact that does direct damage, "...what a piece of crap!", I foolishly said out loud. In came the vultures, "...here I'll take that off your hands.", said one vulture. "look through my trade book and take any two rares -STOP!- now maybe what he offered for my 'Cursed Scroll' was NOT a bad idea, however, I had no clue as to what I wanted OR needed at the time. So, I took two rares (can't remember what they were now) and that was that. One of the worst trades I made.
BTW, I also traded a Rishadan Port for a Trade Routes (bad trade, huh?)

When I first started playing, I had like 2 revised starters worth of cards. My "friend" wanted to help me out by giving me a bunch of cards for one. So I got a Bog Imp, a Scryb Sprites, a Bog Wraith, and 2 other cards for my Demonic Tutor. Then there are the cards I "traded" for nothing... like my foil Deranged Hermit which got stolen less than a week ago.

Best trade:
Right after Masques came out, I traded a DEALER a Caterean Overlord for his Rishadan Port. $3 credit for the Overlord, $3 for the Port.

I can pick up acadamies for 75c around here.

It's banned in all but type I, so most people don't want it.

Rath's Edge is uncounterable and lets you do the final five or six points that you stalled out on in your weenie deck.
similar to Skull Catapult from IA/5th, except it takes a little longer and isn't counterable.

A friend of mine traded a mana flare for two lightning bolts when he first started. I feel bad because he asked me if he should, and I thought that HE was getting the flare. I think my exact words were:

\"Hell yeah! that card kicks ass! He must not know what he\'s doing, or something.\"

That trade still comes up in conversation sometimes...
