"CASUAL PLAYERS ALLIANCE- Name says it all. Don't
really like the site personally...They said our site "wasn't worth
our time linking" and that we were "not important enough"...that
coming from a supposed "Casual" site..1/5 stars."

Is this true? Not that I really care, but I just don't see Ed or Whomever having that kind of attitude.
I can see He(they) declining to link, but in a diplomatic way, not just saying: "Your site isn't worth our time" or "You're not Important enough".

Oh well, just thought if this was an exaggeration You would want to rebut.

Never heard of them. And I don't think we do any linking to anywhere (banners notwithstanding)(?)

I wish I hadn't deleted the response from my email so I could post it verbatim...

Im not bitter about it ..and I was going to update my rating since I DO visit quite often..

to each his own as far as who links who..but I DID link this site as I love the layout and forum subject matter..I was just wanting a link to promote our site since really we are the ONLY team site online that isnt dead and isnt commercial plus we (I) update on almost a daily basis.

I certainly don't think I ever said anything to that effect, at least not specifically regarding that site.

But then again, I only post links to sites with articles on them that I happen to find whilst browsing on my own time. If I have never even heard of a site, then that pretty much rules out linking to it.

Anyone who has a site (or visits one) that updates from time to time, and has an article that Casual Players might find relevant, feel free to let me know about it via PM or by emailing me at chaosturtle@cpa-mail.net.

I'm always interested in new front-page material, whether from CPA original articles, or from articles posted on other sites.

Any particular reason why we can't link to them now? After all, we have a "Links" section that isn't really very deep at the moment...

I don't see why not. I can't remember the reason behind not linking other sites (if there were any) to begin with )although I'm sure they're somewhere in some old posts).

Well how about the principle of editorial decision making. If their site is crap, why link to it? So is it crap?

(Gizmo visits the site)

Well it`s really well presented. Didn`t seem to be able to find any content though. Early days, I guess but team sites are usually a dead loss, mine is only halfway ok because I`m on it and I write a whole load of junk for various people, and we had a ton of old articles and reports that I could lift from the Dojo archives - it`s more like the David Sutcliffe website than anything else.
I`d say - looks nice, get some content on it and it`ll be ok. Internet is about content, not appearance.

Re: TeamRegime.com

Not bad for a team site, which is to say I'm not impressed.

Is this an editorial decision? I never thought links were like articles... it's just information; it's giving the option of someone visiting it and making their own choice on whether the site's good or bad.

I kinda differentiate that from articles, where people can post them in the forums so they're less visible or rewrite them.

I don't know, what do the other admins say?

Umm..where to begin. First a little his-story about team regime.com....

Im the only person actually working on the site. The ONLY one. I ask for submissions threw friends and the like..but most, if not all of it is my little treasure.

Im NOT a web-designer by trade (Im a Graphic Designer)..so everything on the site is "home-made"..I never went to school for this-- but Im trying. Books are good.

CONTENT-- Yes, I know it lacks content but when you work full time and pay a mortgage and raise a family..well content comes when it comes. Like after 10pm til 2 am.

THE REASON-- A group of friends (the team) needed a contact area for meeting up, posting tournaments, etc...I was happy to help...all at a monetary cost to me...I LOVE MAGIC..thats the main reason...MAGIC and FRIENDS.

LINK- Why a Link? Why not? I know an awful lot of people that like "non-commercial" sites, home-made sites, and non-elitist Magic places to visit...I thought ( I maybe wrong) this was an ideal place to get linked and link to....PLUS I visit on a regular basis...

CONCLUSION- I'll leave the decision in the capable hands of the Founders and other Powers that Be...I say capable because ya'll have gotten this far...If it does'nt happen...thats life.

Hello there fellow KCMO member. You are only the second KC member to sign up, and that makes only 3 total from Missouri.

I play at both A to Z in Blue Springs and, more rarely, Cache, the old location. Haven't been there for a while though.

Have I ever seen you at either place?

I was at A-Z 2 weeks ago on a Friday nite...came in 5th or 6th place...I brought along a bunch o people I heard we put the turn out over the top as far as record participants (something like 30 plus)...

I normally play at the new CACHE store on FNMagic at 119th...rarely at the old store.

I HIGHLY recommend Sat nite at Battlezone 95th and Quivira location (I have links to the site and directions on the :"Tournaments" page link...check it out

Oh yeah, I forgot we must talk about MAGIC....

Umm..are you going to regionals?

Feel free to email me...since the monitor doods probably don't like us using this space for personal things.

P.S. Sign My Guestbook- Dood.

Unfortunatly, real life keeps me from attending too many Magic events. I'm not going to reginals, but I never miss a pre-release, FNM, or State tourney.

I haven't been to the Battlezone for a while, and never played Magic there, so I might check it out.

Also, I was there at A to Z the Friday in question. Red headed guy, played Counter-Rebel and did rather poorly. Oh well...

...now going to sign your guest book...

I can think of exactly one site we won't link to - Newwave. And we have a personal grudge against them (I haven't even BEEN there since we formed up, really!). Links are, in my opinion at least, created to let people visit sites with alternative content. Some links are good, others poor. But there's no true _harm_ it putting up a link to a site, merely the possibility of a lack of advantages. And just because something may not help doesn't mean you shouldn't do it - You avoid doing something when it may hurt, and I don't see how this can, really... :)

/me goes all confusing on you!

Actually, it was the beauty of navigation that made me change the rating from 1/5 to 4/5..not really the PEOPLE...I love the aesthetics of the website. The people (a grand total of maybe 12 regulars- Ive been a member for a week now) seem very nice but is really not why the rating changed. I hear "ED" that man...so cheers to that dood.
That is all.

Almindhra : I'm with you on that one.

We have plenty of onlookers, many forum posters, a few article writers, debuting players, ranked pros, internet writers, poets ...

Teamregime, I dont know what else you need here.

Maybe after you stay for a month or so you will change that statement...

Well, if you've only come here for a week, it's true that you'll see only a handful of names that post regularly... a month will let you see more, but I actually have to agree with teamregime...
