I guess you can say people live here. :)

Just a thought, since I did horrible on my last two sealed tournaments, is there any advice anyone can give me for this upcomming prerelease?

I have some inside info.

First things first. Creatures. You've gotta have them. In a sealed environment, you die without a HUGE abundance of them.

Second, here's a color co-ordianting strategy:

Green:put in BIG creatures with as much fast mana that you could possibly put in(harrow, quirion elves, etc.)

Red:Try getting as many kavus as possible. Odds are, they'll help. Try to get some nice burn spells as well.

Black:Creature elimination. I always play black because it screws your oppenent's board. Especially with the new card, Terminate(yes, I know it's red/black). And try to get some discard spells.

Blue:Counterspells and bouncing spells. With the sealed environment blue has, that's basically all that will help you.

White:Good blockers and life gain. These will help in the long run.

Third:You will be screwed if you only play one color. Try to play two colors, or, if you have enough potential, three colors. Never try more than three colors. And ALWAYS play color friendly(don't mix black with white, blue with red, etc.)

Fourth: Don't give away any ideas you have too early. Your opponent will just stock up on spells that will capitalize the situation.

Fifth, and the most important: Don't cheat. I saw a guy at the Urza's Legacy pre-release get kicked out and have his promo cards taken away because he used he first flight cards in the third flight so had would have the advantage.

I hope you have a lot of luck at the pre-release.

Only three colors? No wonder I did so bad. Although in my last sealed tourny all my uncommons were dual lands. (well, maby not all, but I did get about 6 of them) So I figured going a fourth color will be worth it.

I'll try to force Blue Black and Red. Those are my favorite colors. (maby not blue, but black and red are the best!) Althoug it will depend on what I get.

What are those flights your talking about?

Thanks for all the help. I plan to do the prerelease and any of those booster draft stuff.

Also, when trading in the land for more basic land of your type, what do you suggest. And how much land? I usualy (in my 2 tournies) go 15 to 17 lands.

You should try to have a deck with this config:

40-48 cards

16-19 creatures
16-19 land
8-10 spells

You want as much land as you have creatures. Spells are always last priority

The colors you choose shouldn't be predetermined. Wait until you opened your pack and see which colors are the most powerful. If they aren't color friendly, splash in the color that joins them.
For example:Red and blue are you best choices, splash in black. White and Red your best, splash in green.

And, above all, don't play all of your rares, unless they fit. Just because they are rares doesn't mean that they will save your butt. I learned this in my first pre-release(Urza's Legacy) when I got several great green and red creatures but pulled a Time Spiral as well. I didn't want to break two colots, so I just completely ditched the red cards. I only went 2-3 that day. I did, however, get my Time Spiral sign by the artist there, which was cool. Which reminds me, see which artists, if any, will be at your Pre-release so you can bring cards by that/those artist(s).

That's all for now. Any more questions?
