I have some inside info.
First things first. Creatures. You've gotta have them. In a sealed environment, you die without a HUGE abundance of them.
Second, here's a color co-ordianting strategy:
Green

ut in BIG creatures with as much fast mana that you could possibly put in(harrow, quirion elves, etc.)
Red:Try getting as many kavus as possible. Odds are, they'll help. Try to get some nice burn spells as well.
Black:Creature elimination. I always play black because it screws your oppenent's board. Especially with the new card, Terminate(yes, I know it's red/black). And try to get some discard spells.
Blue:Counterspells and bouncing spells. With the sealed environment blue has, that's basically all that will help you.
White:Good blockers and life gain. These will help in the long run.
Third:You will be screwed if you only play one color. Try to play two colors, or, if you have enough potential, three colors. Never try more than three colors. And ALWAYS play color friendly(don't mix black with white, blue with red, etc.)
Fourth: Don't give away any ideas you have too early. Your opponent will just stock up on spells that will capitalize the situation.
Fifth, and the most important: Don't cheat. I saw a guy at the Urza's Legacy pre-release get kicked out and have his promo cards taken away because he used he first flight cards in the third flight so had would have the advantage.
I hope you have a lot of luck at the pre-release.
