Istanbul:

The deck I posted uses the Drake/Adept combo.

Griffith_se:

Bloodshot Cyclops would be good, too, if you're using things like Overtaker or Ray of Command.

How about Juxtapose or Gauntlets of Chaos? Give away something with a major drawback that won't be able to hurt you, and get something decent in return.

Come to think of it, it's probably best to keep the deck as close to mono-blue as possible, since so much of the good control cards are blue.

Hi,

OK, so far, I've picked these cards.

Gilded Drake
Stinging Barrier,Or Prodigal Sorcerer
Temporal Adept
Diplomatic Escort
Charisma

I think These will work well together.
combos,
Gilded Drake/Temporal Adept(you Know)
Gilded Drake/Diplomatic Escort(I get to keep the Drake}
Stinging Barrier/Charisma(ping it and take it)
etc...etc....

I've been really sick the last couple of days so, I have really thought alot about this.

Actually, now, I'm thinking of going with white for my other color. I was thinking, Mothers, Ivory Mask, Wall of Glare.
Any thoughts?

If you can get it to work, the Stinging Barrier/Charisma combo works really well with Gilded Drake also, since you can give the Drake to your opponent, then follow it up with a Charismatic Sting from the Barrier to take it back. You end up with a 3/3 flyer and whatever else you stole.

As for the Escort, if you're looking for some spellshaper action, try the Waterfront Bouncer. It bounces Drakes back to your hand and works as creature control, too (although, if you're using Temporal Adept, that works the same way).

Perhaps Diplomatic Immunity would be better? Place it on your Temporal Adept, and you won't have to worry about it being destroyed (for the most part; Earthquake or Wrath of God would still do it, but then again, that's what Counterspells are for).

As for the white cards, they don't really fit in with the idea of stealing creatures, so I would stick with the mono-blue approach (with Temporal Adept's ability requiring UUU to play, it means you'll need an awful lot of blue in any case). You might splash white for Disenchant or something, but that takes away from some of your blue base.

Yeah,

Your right about White, mono Blue its going to be.

Escorts, I like the bonus of the countering ability(spells or activated abilitys that target a creature). You could counter Terrors, Shocks etc.. I think its a little more vesrsitle if its not stuck on one creature.

In case you wondered how the Escort/Drake thing worked.

cast the Drake.
target opponents creature.
use Escort's Ability on targeted creature.
the swap fizzles, I keep the Drake.

BTW, I think I'm going to add these in
Enchantment Alteration
Confiscate(maybe couple only)
Rewind
Counterspell(of Coarse)
Quash
Claws of Gix(Just to get rid of stuff)
what do you think?

When I start felling better I'll finish this thing, and post it.

any more suggestions? All are welcome.

Thanx

Ok, here is my decklist using this idea and a brief summary at the end of how it works...

4x Energy Field
4x Reins of Power
4x Goblin Bombardment
4x Brainstorm
4x Impulse
4x Library of Leng
4x Bulwark
4x Boomerang
4x Capsize
4x Disintegrate

Ok, this deck relies very heavily on Energy Field as you can tell. As long as a card does not hit my graveyard I do not take damage, so I can sit back and do nothing while my opponent builds up an army of creatures. With the Library of Leng I do not have to discard cards and I can have as many in my hand as I want. The Library in combination with the Bulwark deals my opponent damage equal to 1 point for every card I have in hand in excess of him/her. I use the Boomerangs and Capsizes in case my opponent tries to disenchant the energy field or whatever. As soon as my opponent has a few creatures out I take them with Reins of Power and attack him with his own creatures for however much damage and then sac all of his creats to my Goblin Bombardment which deals an extra point of damage to him for each creature sacced. This leaves him creatureless, so next turn my opponent is usually sufficiently down on life so I can finish him off with a Disintegrate. This deck only really loses to Counterspell decks, and it lost to a Grindstone Millstone Deck obviously LOL.

I hope this might give you a few ideas as well!

Griffith_se:

I would suggest using Treachery, as it is another of those "free" spells and it allows you to take your opponent's creatures. You might even use Enchantment Alteration to move Treachery from one creature to another, more powerful creature.

The Escort/Drake combo is interesting, I've never heard of it. It still may be more advantageous to just bounce the Drake and cast it again, though.

I JUST GOT THE PROPHECY SPOILER
*Duel does his happy funny dance*
So, now that I have an idea what's coming out, I see battlewagon/fling being a popular move, especially with cards like vitalize. Look:
"Okay, I tap my albino troll, hunted wumpus, and llanowar elf. Battlewagon gets a +10/+0. Vitalize, do it again. Fling? I think so." Sound fun?

*Side note* anyone know if and when the prophecy expansion of Apprentice is coming out?

OK,

Here is ver.1, totally untested, havn't even gold-fished yet.

I think all the the creatures will work well together. I put in 4 Misdirection in case opponent wants to target me with major damage spell.

4 Gilded Drake
4 Temporel Adept(or, Waterfront Bouncer)
4 Stinging Barrier(or, Prodigal Sorcerer)
4 Diplomatic Escort

4 Charisma(with Stinging Barrier)
4 Misdirection
4 Confiscate(Maybe to expensive to have 4)
4 Rethink(wanted to use a Proph. card)
4 Counterspell

4 Crysal Vein
4 Saprazzan Skerry
16 Island

Maybe.

2 Dust Bowl
4 Port
18 Island

I know I'm overlooking something. What is it? Probably something obvious, but its not apparent to me.

Thanks for the help.
