Is red.....Falling apart?

Not that I know anything about the specifics, but it looks to me like the original argument was that red in general sucks. Insane Penguin goes on to say that it has a couple of good spells but not-so good creatures, which I'm reading in combination with other colors, red is not much of even a splash color.

So, is red (no mention or addition of creatures), like some cruel imitation of Ransac, Running in, Dancing the pidgeon, and then making a triumphant retreat?

I stand by my analysis.
