I don't pay attention to Magic...or articles about it at all, so I tend to like your cartoons a little better. I actually like all the one's I've seen. But in this latest one of yours, I guess...one thing caught me off guard, a thing which I noticed to occur and recur in the Magic realm of things: when a StarCity fanatic, for example, or anyone who is obsessed with the game attempts quarter-wittedly to identify what is "geeky" and what is not. As far as my closed mind goes...I've always considered StarCity to be the geek haven...
I think I might have heard once or twice how “the Ferrett” accused someone or another of being “geeky.” Any half-wit, on the other hand, can experience the sensual, and
free pleasure of all that is geeky at the sight of this Ferrett giving advice on “how to write a Magic article.” Oh – and you get to have a shot at winning fifty lumpy bucks. As soon as life seems to begin anew, the air fresh (fantasies of buying some soap, maybe?), you get to confront a greater, self-fulfilling fantasy: the fifty bucks may only be used towards free Magic cards! Yes! You know, I wish I was geeky enough to write a “winning” article (which, in life, is a
losing article, actually), only to reject that fifty or so bucks.
Did I mention how the folks at StarCity have recurring fantasies of becoming pimps? Hence:
StarCity’s own Ferrett:
It probably seems like a real good idea to maximize your chances by sending your article to all of the major sites at once...Until you realize that we all want our own, exclusive articles. Most of the articles I've seen that were sent to every site never got published - and besides, to win the weekly contest it must be exclusive.
In short: be
my whore. Someone please tell them that this “
we want our own” doesn’t cover “we,” but
they, the wannabe pimps above anyone else.
Now don't get me wrong and all, I like Magic "and stuff," but...the level of seriousness which sites like StarCity exhibit is really
unclean and geeky
par excellence. The simple mentioning of "StarCity" sounds downright filthy...the name itself is equivalent to "dirty."
I'm glad we have people who take Magic just a
sigh less seriously, like SeFRo. It immediately
cleans the name of Magic...which is a bad thing amongst StarCity for obvious reasons...
Don't get me started with the "featured" writers...or the "winners"...or the "good players"...or the "legends"...or the "reports."
Here's a report:
you need a bath. But that's the least to mention...
