Oversoul
The Tentacled One
Played this deck twice last week. First game, I was mana-screwed and died without ever being able to play the game. It was one of my worst games in a while. Painfully bad.
In the other game, I stalled out and thought that I was going to see a repeat of the previous game. But the game ran long and I started to stabilized. Amusingly, although I found no routes to draw this game, I kept saving the weakest opponent at the table from certain death. After two saves, he was able to help another player pick off the biggest threat at the table. But then I had to save him from his other opponent. I think I recast Everybody Lives! twice in this game, as well as making other such plays. By the end, I managed to get him to kill that opponent before he finished me off. This was a guy who was literally picking up his cards because he was confident that he was losing the game, and I insisted that he sit back down and stay put. Then 30 minutes later, he was winning the game.
