Dual Nature and Brothers Yamazaki

OK, so I'm going to build this goofy deck and I've got a few ideas.

Mandatory item #1: 3-4 Brothers
Mandatory item #2: 1-3 Dual Nature (which by the way, is going to be very evil in this new Legend heavy environment)

I have an idea I might want to run with: Rector utility. Here is a very rough decklist

Creatures 25
4 Wall of Blossoms
4 Wood Elves
4 Academy Rector
3 Brothers
3 Uktabi Organgutan
4 FTK
2 Deranged Hermit
1 Duplicant

Enchantments 9
3 Dual Nature
3 Goblin Bombardment
1 Sigil of the New Dawn (Bombardment tricks)
1 Defense of the Heart
1 Martyr's Cause

Spells 3
3 Winnow (Dual Nature tech)

Lands
1 Sol Ring
1 Strip Mine
1 Diamond Valley
2 Wasteland
3 Moxen
4 Taiga
4 Savannah
4 Plateau
4 Forests

The idea of the deck:

Every creature in the deck is good on it's own, but great with Dual Nature. Nature helps me keep opposing Legends in check (which are sure to be an issue soon), and allows me to do neat tricks with my creatures.

The FTK and Duplicants can hopefully allow me to catch 4-for-1's by killing the creature card.

The Rectors duplicate, and can be sacked to any of 5 cards (or killed with FTK)

Deranged Hermit makes perma-squirrels

Goblin Bombardment is general utility, from creature consolidation to Rector, to loops with Sigil.

Sigil allows me to do recursive loops with the Bombardment

Defense of the Heart should be able to activate pretty easily, and get key pieces I need, though I don't love it.

Martyr's Cause is a precaution, in case I get 2 fatties I can't deal with.

Diamond Valley is another Rector Outlet, along with just-in-case lifegain.

---

I'm open to all ideas and alternate builds. Thanks!

I'm sure a Gaea's Cradle or two and a Crop Rotation wouldn't hurt....

I like the deck...It looks like fun

Oh, Mikeymike, you so crazy.

You may like the new legend tutor, but then again, you can only roll with the Super Smash Bros. so probably not. However, since you got green and whie, Eladamri's call is pretty solid too. You can fetch up a rector early, or the Bros. if you already got it. Also, the new creature impulse is pretty solid in a utility deck like this too.

Hey mikey have you ever thought of running blue? Blue's got some really interesting options available to it when fiddling with additional creatures. Two that come to mind quickly are:

Protues Staff
Riptide Shapeshifter

...and really thats all that hits me....hmm...nevermind blue.

Ack...ever get that feeling when you know something's there swimming in the recesses of your dome, but just can't get it to surface? Well I've got that feeling right now...

I agree with synopsis of Defense of the Heart. I like the card..a lot actually. But it rarely functions. People aren't stupid enough to break that thing willingly.

I remember seeing Defense of the Heat broken. If I can remember what all it was with I'll tell you, but I don't think I can remember...

You can always just play Defense after they already have three creatures out. Pretty easy if you gots dual nature.

I like Therapies and Phyrexian Towers for sacrificing Rectors...

Therapy is especially broken with Rector...

Academy Rector tokens can't fetch enchantments, just so you know.

216.3. A token in a zone other than the in-play zone ceases to exist. This is a state-based effect. (Note that a token changing zones will set off triggered abilities before the token ceases to exist.) Once a token has left play, it can’t be returned to play by any means.

So unfortunately by the time you would remove him from the game....he is already gone.....Wizards chose a more strict ruling on him...(they did something smart for once)...unlike skullclamp

Now....if only it were a triggered ability.....then he would be the bombe in this deck....but unfortunatly his ability is not a trigger and there for his dupe will only net you what ever you sack him to....killing him would be a waste of a perfectly good FTK....

I thought the idea behind this deck was to use Rector to get Dual Nature in the first place though...

Well you still can...just only with the original...

The way Rector is worded makes it impossible to use a token to fetch the enchantment.

If it were a graveyard trigger...as in when it hits the yard it triggers, it would work. Rather then having a stipulation that "if it is in your graveyard you may remove it from the game"

We are talking about the Rector copy Oversoul

But why are we talking about the Rector copy. If the Rector is being used to fetch the card that makes copies in the first place, it shouldn't be an issue. Sure, it would be better if the copy did fetch stuff, but it doesn't seem to be an issue of whether or not to include Rector, but rather us talking about the fact that a copy of Rector will not fetch enchantments.

It was nice that it was brought up, but I think that five (at this point) posts about it is more than enough...
