It appears there's some difference between the "Core Game" and "Basic Set" - is the Core Game something like you get two packs or decks of 40 cards (maybe from the Basic Set like 8th ed) to try to learn the game? I seem to remember his front page article saying something like that... so the Core Game is just a subset of the Basic Game?An ideal artifact for the Core Game is Spellbook. It's 'free' and has an effect that breaks one of the basic rules of the game. The other point of artifacts is to shore up weaknesses of the colors. This will have to be used in the Core Game in all probability.
The Charms I belive should firmly stay in the Basic Set in some form or another--
