A huge number of pics, some of which are most intriguing. Things I am positive about that I haven't said yet:

On top, Serra and Thorny

Row 1, Column 1: Still a mystery. Might be one of the Black Paladins

Row 1, Column 2: Wow, that one has me baffled completely.

Row 1, Column 3: I think this is one of the Black Paladins

Row 1, Column 4: Looks like Air Elemental, only fiercer. Might also be Phantom Monster by the looks of him.

Row 2, Column 1: Seems to be Southern Paladin

Row 2, Column 2: Can there be any doubt this is Elvish Champion?

Row 2, Column 3: I have no idea, but I REALLY want to know what this thingy is.

Row 2, Column 4: Looks like Lightning Elemental to me.

Row 3, Column 1: 'Moti

Row 3, Column 2: Lord of Atlantis

Row 3, Column 3: Phyrexian Colossus

Row 3, Column 4: Goblin King

Row 4, Column 1: Raging Goblin

Row 4, Column 2: Gorilla Berserker by the looks of it

Row 4, Column 3: A dragon of some kind, may be Thunder Dragon (Portal for those who don't know)

Row 4, Column 4: Not sure at all. Blood Lust? Keldon something?

Row 5, Column 1: Probably Scathe Zombie, but may be *gasp* Livind Death

Row 5, Column 2: Yes, you saw that right. It's our very own OOOOOOOOOORG!

Row 5, Column 3: Hulking Ogre? I have no idea.

Row 5, Column 4: No ideas at all on this one.

Row 6, Column 1: Glorious Anthem

Row 6, Column 2: Portcullis

Row 6, Column 3: Fallen Angel

Row 6, Column 4: Shivan Dragon

Some comments of mine:

Row 6, Column 1: This is probablly either Glorious Anthem or Avenging Angel. But...perhaps...this could be the new picture for Serra Angel! I hope it is, its SO cool.

Row 2, Column 2: Isnt Elvish Champion in Invasion?

Row 2, Column 3: This is one of the coolest pictures I have ever seen. I need to know what this is!

Row 4, Column 3: Looks alot like Lightning Dragon. It isnt, (echo), but it makes sense. Ron Spencer did the art to that card, and this one too.

I really like most of these pictures...cool.

I think that might be Lightning Dragon because if you compare this pic with the urza's saga pic, they look exactly alike. Could they be bring back echo into a basic set?

Is it just me, or does the new art just totally kick a$$? I'll need some copies of these cards for the art alone, even if I do have several copies of previous versions.

And if the speculation on these cards is accurate, 7th is going to be all about BEEF.

I know WotC has never done it for Basic set releases, but I'd like to go to a 7th Ed. pre-release! Since pre-releases are just about the most popular things WotC does, I think they should do a 7th Ed. pre-release, complete with a foil Serra as the pre-release card.

How cool would that be?

I've gotta say, they've REALLY stepped up the quality of the art on the 7th Edition cards. I hope the pictures are big enough for you to see everything.

Um, the Row 2 Column 3 looks like a Two-Headed Wurm ... :)
(definitely not a Two-Headed Dragon or Two-Headed Giant of Forys). I think Row 6 Column 1 is an Archangel.

Hetemti, you seem to hate everything.

Seriously though, I think credit should be given where it's due. I'd give my left nut to be as talented as half those artists are.

6,1 is Avenging Angel. I'm certain of that one.

About that Lightning Dragon... it really is the same creature. It has the same musculature, teeth, and artist ;).

That Gorilla is probably not Gorilla Berserker (rampage has not been used for years). I think it's a plain old Gorilla Warrior (3/2 for 2G).

I like the art, except the card in Row 4, Column 4 looks like a superhero busting out. As long as Drew Tucker doesn't draw people anymore... :rolleyes:

I would be happy if Drew Tucker would not draw ANY FREAKING THING FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE!!!

If ever one more of his "drawings" appears on Magic card, I'm going to defecate on the sheet of paper and send it to WoTC, and if they don't accept it as a "foil alternate art" for whatever card Drew did, I'm going to go to the artistic academy, to get an investigation whose drawing is better - my poop or Drew's poop.

Gosh, that two-headed thingy. I thought it was a Two-headed dragon on first glance, but that's from Mercadian masques, so it's unlikely that that's what it is. BUT, take into account that Whetstone(Urza's Saga rare) WAS printed in 6th edition. So, who knows.

Whetstone was printed in 6E?
I don't think so.

But they will probably print several cards from Masques or Invasion, like they printed Shock in 6E for example, although it wasn't in Mirage block.

I just looked at the spoiler for Sixth edition, and you are right, Whetstone is not in Sixth Edition.

The reason I thought that, however, is because I am holding a Whetstone with a sixth edition symbol and white borders in my hand that I pulled out of a sixth edition pack. Talk about a rare find.

Forgive my ignorence, but could someone please list some cards that this Drew Tucker person has done so that I can hate him too.

I've never paid much attention to the artists.

Row 1, Column 3 looks like Abyssal Specter to me.

Row 1, Column 1, and Row 2, Column 1 seem to be the 2 black paladins.

Row 5, Column 1 appears to be a bunch of dead guys dragging a poor soldier to his death. Please let this be Living Death.

Row 5, Column 4 could be a white paladin. The bearded guy's wearing some battered silver armor.

Overall, much better art than any of the past editions. And the rares seem to have great art, which is a good change. Not that there aren't rares with great art, but sometimes we get excellent cards without spectacular artwork, and that's sad.
