Okay - Saw this last night, and rather enjoyed the episode... Not so much with the twins departing, but overall...

Chip did make a big error when not using the yield...

Christie(sp?) didn't really seem to stand up to Colin - but in the next episode, he actually tells her he hates her... Wonder where that leads...

The Moms came in second - cool for them... and Brandon and nicole seemingly had a hard time asking for money - but hey - "you gotta do..."

Glad the twins left, they were one of my annoying teams :)

I don't think Chip made a big error, but it looks like he learned his lesson about not fooling around, especially when playing for a million dollars. The twins made a huge error in going for the Dirty Detour; the show made it look like they were close with Chip & Kim, but when seeing that it was becoming dark when the twins did the Zorbo, I have to wonder.

yeah, Christie didn't really stand up to Colin as shown in the preview, but I was expecting that. Just like I'm expecting next week won't be that big of a deal either (but I'm also hoping I'll be surprised :) ) His statement was funny though, considering that when they finished the leg he was saying how he couldn't do the Race without her, blah, blah blah.

I'm wondering how much Brandon and Nicole made - it looked like they had trouble but the rest stop also looked like a big place with lots of people. I'm thinking they got plenty.

I missed the first part of the episode, so I didn't see Brandon and Nicole getting money.

I'm not too upset seeing the twins go.

But I'm also not 100% convinced that choosing to not use the yeild was a bad idea. He was under the impression that the mothers were behind, when they weren't....but it's 1 minute.

Now, I've seen a few episodes that come down to a foot race, so I know that 1 minute can make a difference, but I think I've seen far more when having a friend on your side can save you a lot of time. For example, when the brothers told the twins where the next clue was in Egypt...Do you think the brothers would have done that had the twins previously used a yeild on them?

And, as Spidey pointed out, I also noted how dark it was when the twins finally showed up. What got me is that it didn't apear to even be getting dark when they left the mud pit...or when they said they were close, for that mater... so I wonder if they did go the wrong way or something.

When Colin made the comment at the end of the episode about being so close to Christy, I turned to my wife and said, "yeah, that's because you're winning". Put a bit of stress on him and we've seen over and over how he loses it towards her.

But I don't think next week is going to be any different than any other. He will yell, say he hates her, and then they will get through the situation and all will be well....unless they actually get eliminated, in which case he will blame it on her...

At this point, I don't think any teams are really "allied" with each other (truly allied, Chip & Kim are just working over Colin & Christie) so having a "friend" doesn't really matter. I mean, sure, it's being nice and if that's their nature, that's fine, but they're not under any obligation NOT to use it. It's not like Survivor, where people lie and switch their minds without telling all the time. And are they really going to see these people again? You're in a game, a race for a million dollars. Not a game on who can be the nicest to each other.

If that's the case, the couple that lost in the first leg should win. They tried to be nice and paid for it. And they may not mind, since the girl said she appreciated that side of the guy, which is fine, but in the overall picture, to go through an audition process and be picked for the show and to get eliminated because of niceness kinda sucks.

Remember, this is "fair" niceness I'm talking about. Not backstabbing or cheating and using the yield when they explicitly siad they weren't going to to another team.

Right. I agree with you that the chance of having a good return out of not using the yield is very slim....but if they do reciprocate a favor, it has potential to have a significantly time-saving payoff.

On the other hand, using the yield gives an immediate payoff...but only 1 minute which in most cases, is pretty meaningless...

I thought it varied; it wasn't usually a minute...

Then again, they only started showing the yield option in the last couple or so legs, so I could be remembering wrong...

I know there is an hourglass that they have to turn over and wait for the sand. When they showed that the first time, it seemed to be running pretty quickly (no one used the yeild, but they turned it over in the example). I guess you are right that they never actually said how long it was, so that was an assumption on my part.

I would think that in order to even be worth using, it would need to be at least 15 minutes. Maybe someone will use one in an upcoming episode and we'll see how long it is.

From what I remember, when the host has been explaining it, he says an "undetermined/unknown amount of time".

Man, I forgot to post after last week's show.

Too bad it was a non-elimination round but that was pretty much a given since this week is the finale and there was one non-elimination round left.

Not sure of the time advantage they all gained from Colin & Christie sitting out - hope it was worth it.

Just like I thought, Colin's remark was more out of frustration than any true "back-and-forth" between the two. They're still a team.

Can't really remember anything else notable unless someone else jogs my memory.

The yield is supposed to be 1 hour, as stated by the rules (they state it when they mention it...)

We were so hoping that colin would be eliminated... but it's down to the final four - and tonight finishes it out...

Our best to the moms, and chip and kim...:D

Couldn't watch last night's finale so had to tape it; hopefully will see it tonight.

I'm pretty sure they don't say a specific time when they explain what the yield is all about; he says "when the timer runs out after a certain amount of time", meaning it varies.

Yeah, I didn't get a chance to watch last weeks until just the other day because I've been in Central America. It looked to be about an hour on the yield.

I'm not sure if Chip ended up regretting the yield or not. I don't think so. I do think that Brandon had no right in the finale to be upset with Chip (you'll see what I mean) because he was trying to take advantage of Chip and Kim, so the fact that Chip turned it around and made it cost him time instead was just deserts.

Anyway, I won't say anything yet that gives anything away about the ending. I'll wait until you have a chance to watch.

Heh, when I saw you posted here, I didn't even read it until I saw the taped finale last night :)

So yeah, Brandon and Nicole came off as big whiners because Chip lied to them about whether it was the right flag or not. C'mon guys, GET OUT OF THE BOAT AND OFF YOUR DUFF! They're were just riding Chip & Kim's coat-tails the whole time up until that point (like hitching a ride with them in the same jeepney).

If the Yield was an hour, C&C musy have caught up majorly since the time difference at the start of the next-to-last leg was only about 15 minutes between them and C&K.

Unfortunately, my home page iwon.com had the winners on it so I knew who won and then some co-workers were talking about it so I knew why they won, but it was still nice to see C&K get back in the race with the final plane schedule. And I don't know if Colin would have had 4 planes lined up since I think he was thinking since he had a cab waiting, which apparently cost B&N their chance to get to the maze fast, but he was cocky and thought he had it all wrapped up.

So I'm happy my favorite team actually won :)

Yep, it all ended quite well. Colin was certainly arogant, but he played very smart too. For a while there, the way they were showing things, it looked like him calling ahead for the cab was going to put them in front of Chip and Kim. Especially since it didn't really look like it took them that long to do the maze.

Still, the fact that they were running behind on the olimpic course is really what ended up winning Chip and Kim the game. Getting on that earlier flight put them basically unreachable.

Funny how that being in last did help out with the plane tickets...

We were glad to see Chip and Kim take it also - and I think it mainly because they had a good time doing it... Though their "team" really was one-sided towards Chip most of the time...

As for Colin and Christie... They seemed to be so far behind at the end - that there must've been a lot of editing done to make it seem so close...

And it ended in TEXAS - what a way to cap it off!...

They weren't that far behind - remember, their plane landed about 10-15 minutes after C&K's, and they had a cab waiting. And they ran into C&K as C&K were finishing the maze. So I think if the traffic had been worse, C&K would have had a footrace on their hands.

Landing 10-15 minutes later doesn't change the fact that they have to get their bags, and everything else... Most of the time they have to "check" big bags like the packs they were carrying, and that means waiting for baggage, and then getting out of the terminals...

Of course - this counts for all of the contestants - but they don't show this for some reason... (though they did show the checking of bags at various times...)

Hmm, that's true. Although I don't think C&K had bags to check, just the other two.

However, you get the time frame when C&C met C&K at the maze, and then at the end when everyone's still congratulating C&K and C&C come up. So I don't think they were more than 15 minutes at most behind them at the end.

Having driven through what they were going through - I can guarantee they made up a lot of time with their driver taking the shoulder along the road...

I was surprised he didn't get stopped - and they show that to add some drama to the show...

:D
