Yes you could have played the Jester. You can play it and the Wizard at any time - you don't have to wait until you're out of the starting suit before playing them (unlike the trump suit).

Oddly enough, the first pick of my pack is the Mind Harness (not sure I could use the Aku Djinn in a Limited-type game).

I think you need some removal. Hurricanes, Terror, Dark Banishing, Diabolic Edict/Chainer's Decree, combination of those cards and/or others, whatever. :)

Indeed, just in case you didn't get it Homestar, you're only allowed 4 in a deck since they're not basic lands...

Great idea. I think a category should be Tribal or "One Creature type" decks (to differentiate them between the actual Tribal format) since those decks can be seen more in casual play than tourney play.

So like I said earlier, maybe they should try Extended if they have fairly recent cards like Odyssey which are rotating out of Standard but don't want to make the huge jump to Type 1 or 1.5...

Well, you figure that's about 3 pieces an hour... still, I'd get pretty full. I only eat about 2 when I order pizza anyway, and then I'm usually good to go for a while. I hope there was some variety of toppings on them :)
