    Magic Online sign in problems

Okay, let me ask you this... This was explained in an older thread but let me recap: When I first put the Magic Online CD in, the Autoplay ran and it asked me if I wanted to "update files", which meant connecting to the Internet. It then proceeded to d/l a bunch of files. When I click on...

    Magic Online Pricing

I think they're talking about all players, not just those who play in DCI-sanctioned tourneys. Lord knows I have a DCI number from back in '95 but have used it only once from the time I played '95 to '98. And I don't think you can just think of the "players that play every day". I'm sure...

Question about the Balrog in LotR

Well, so far I have that other guy and Rando here saying it's explicitly explained and arhar here saying he's not sure :) Anyone else?

    YellowJacket? Gone?

We were talking about how long he was a member of Brainburst, not here... here is definitely longer. I don't know if it's "School" restriction driven... he was pretty busy all throughout fall semester but still came on a couple of times. I think it's just real life intruding (although I hope...

    My Set

Less cards! The better to process with! The only thing that jumps out at me is that Scroll Carrier is basically the same as Pyknite, except the latter costs 2 more colorless. I assume there's a reason for that (besides that it's green, although green has a history of drawing cards), so I'm...

    Magic Online sign in problems

Okay, I set up an account and got back the confirmation email. The problem is when I actually put in my Name and Password and click "logon", I get a small text window with gobble-de-gook in it and if I hit the Checkmark button, it just goes away. Did I sign up wrong or is there something else...

    Torment Pre-Release at Baltimore, MD

I am 90% sure I can actually go to this one with a buddy! I think we're planning to go at 8 AM though  Anyone else planning to be there around then? And is there info about this on the DCI or sideboard website? I got this from aforementioned buddy so not exactly sure of actual details...

    Magic Online Pricing

Chaos Turtle: I'm sure there's other people (at least ONE in the uncounted masses who will play) who feel the opposite. The question is, how much does one side outweigh the other? Although this does seem like a terrible deal, who better to "test" the program than people who actually play now...

Question about the Balrog in LotR

Even in the Simillarion which explains more of Middle-Earth's history? Some guy on the other board said that explicitly tells the origin of the Balrog and why it ended up below Moria.

    Magic Online Pricing

Getting a bit testy, eh? :) The progression to lower the price is fine. How WOTC's profit margin affects me, the player, is irrelevant. What I want to know is: how much is it going to cost me and is it worth it? If I can't find somebody to play, paying $3.29 could be worth it. If they lower...

    Magic Online Pricing

I raised that concern when BigBlue brought this up when Magic Online was in Alpha testing. All I got was that the cards were stored on a "secure server" (not from him specifically, from the news postings from WOTC, although he did say no one tried it in Alpha(?)). You can bet someone is going...

    Magic Online Pricing

Since I feel this is directed to me since I'm basically the only one arguing this way, I feel I have to respond. I realize that WOTC maybe increasing their profit margin selling virtual vs. real cards. But that's really irrelevant the way it affects me. I'm still paying $3.29, whether it be...

    YellowJacket? Gone?

Well, that's only three days then and almost three weeks ago. I guess something just happened in real life that's taking his time... aren't there some players here that associate/play with him?

    Magic Online Pricing

BigBlue: Those ideas make a lot of sense and I'm thinking if WOTC didn't implement them, it's because they're hoping people would just buy packs so they don't lose their "good" rares. EricBess: I agree with your analysis and I think it's the latter; they're trying to draw back players who may...

    Choose Your Adventure...Part 12

I say follow the rat. I don't know what spells I have, I think they're too close to try to search now, hiding will just trap me, and there's probably too many to muscle through. And I'm not beggin'! :)

Question about the Balrog in LotR

This came up somewhere else... is it actually written in LotR or perhaps the Simillarion that the Balrog in Moria was a physical creature and part of the Dark Lord's army (what Sauron was part of) and when he was beaten, it fled to the roots of Moria (which was my thinking)? Or was it a...
