    2002 CPA Notable Awards

"Well, this next award is a repeat winner, but this year it actually looks as if the award fits him! Usually designated for that person who is only a misty and fondly remembered memory, last year this person was here and active. But now, he seems to have vanished into thin air. This year's...

    And the Texans have it!!!

I'll let a smart guy like you figure out what a guy would normally be doing in a OB/GYN office... :p

    Menacing Ogre

It probably wouldn't trigger Transcendence since you're "gaining life" (unless you went over 20). Same as if you cast Stream of Life or something.

They could have reported it; I don't go to their boards so the only way I'd hear about it is if someone here reports it.

    And the Texans have it!!!

I read in a recent Oprah magazine (I think) that she was asking people all over the world to write in what their area/countries thought of the US. I think it was Oprah; one of those type of magazine you find in a OB/GYB office ;)

    Something very interesting.

How reputable is this "Globe and Mail" website? Is it the area's local paper or something? If so, I pretty much agree with Mazzak's comments... that's life <shrug>

    D&D for the PC

I liked Wizardry (especially IV when you played the bad guy) and only tried M&M 1; I like it too except it took awhile to gain levels so you could get out of the starting city. I also liked Bard's Tale and the early Ultimas. However, I like that Bioware put in more "real-time" combat than...

    Menacing Ogre

Well, go figure... I guess it would be good with Transcendence, although you need some time to set this up, with both being high cc and double colored mana... I just looked on CrystalKeep about the Ogre and it says you have to pick an integer (aside from being zero through a positive number)...

Hey, like I said when the idea of MTGO first came up, for those people who don't have anyone to play in person, paying $3.29 for virtual cards is the same thing as paying for real. And I asked about the hacker possibility too, but it appears all through beta and testing no one has succeeded yet...

    Menacing Ogre

You mean when Transcendence's life gain triggers, or it's game end triggers? And I don't think you can bid 50 life unless you have 50 life... you can only bid as much as you have (like paying life as a cost in general)

    2002 CPA Notable Awards

Spidey thwips train in a nice web cocoon to get back the microphone. "Oh look, it doubles as a straitjacket too. That'll keep you still for an hour or so :p This next award goes to s/he who exemplifies Magic on these boards the best (I think that's how the award is supposed to be taken...

    Menacing Ogre

Well, gain twice as much as after you resolve the loss of life from the bid, so you end up with your original life plus your bid. Which means you can't bid over 9 if you have 10 or more life, right? Unless you plan on getting rid of Transcendence before it triggers....

    Menacing Ogre

What would Transcendence do, just be a bonus to actually gaining twice the life when you win the bid?

Doh! That's right, I had access to Dr. Strange's crystal ball there...

    Breeding.... is it ethical?

I think it's more the technology. Only in the past couple of years has the human genome been mapped out. And only the "top level" countries could afford to do it anyway in terms of manpower and research (which is not to say that another couldn't just steal the secrets or whatever). I think...

    Wizard: Round 11

Hey BigBlue, whatever you decide to do with your game, it doesn't matter to me. I'll play anything.

    2002 CPA Notable Awards

What, the December 2002 debacle? Well, the category was for fairest trader, not the most on-time trader :p

    D&D for the PC

What's up with that? 56K modems are pretty cheap nowadays (about the cost of a game roughly) ;)
