It's actually quite understandable in that if this guy DID make Bigfoot up, he fooled lots of people (and apparently still is, according to the article). If that was his goal, to perpetuate a huge hoax, it looks like he succeeded pretty well.

You're probably right about "spamming" being a bit harsh, but there were an awful lot of posts going to those areas when the Magic area was neglected. And there was a period where people were posting "I'm bored, let's talk" and "I've reached x posts" (usually at each 100).
