You don't need Apprentice; I could generate the packs and give them out. You just need to keep track of your cards and what you draw (or I could do like BigBlue and give you your next draw). Either way doesn't matter to me.

train: You're still talking Type 1-ish though, where Academy is at least Restricted. Sure you might get a "god hand", but then, you might not. I think the pendulum has swung the other way to speed up the game a bit faster; I don't recall them saying the game was going to be slowed down...

I don't get that at all from reading his articles... in fact, I think he's one of the more interesting ones they have there.

Oh yeah, I read about that in one of the Invitationals when the Duelist/Sideboard was still out. WOTC also introduced a couple of "new" cards for each color to be only used solely in the draft, not released for general play, in that one (don't know if they kept on doing that).
