You only have to be chewing it during combat and at certain other key times, so it would be pretty good. Jawbreakers would be better. If gum counts, you could just use the same gum for the whole tournament. That seems unfair, but I don't see why gum wouldn't count...

No, but you could use Fallen Angel... I used to use Breeding Pit in a deck that had Ebon Praetor, Hecatomb, and Minion of Leshrac as well as numerous Thrulls and some Thrull Champions. The deck was called "Fun with Swamps" and it was really annoying in multiplayer if left alone too much...
