    Colorless spells

I meant overall. White still has StP in my mind (cards don't disappear from the game, they just rotate out of formats I don't even play). But that does remind me that Black's best creature removal spells were still to come. I mean, they had Dark Banishing, Contagion, etc. But Diabolic Edict...

    Fake Card: Fumigation, Colorless Instant!!

That's the best summation of it I've seen yet. They did push a few individual cards (PSYCHATOG!) and mechanics (storm, madness) too far before Mirrodin (and after Urza's block, of course). But the sets themselves were mostly pretty tame...

Academy Rector makes comeback in Vintage

Greater Good is awesome. It's like every creature you play is a potential draw spell. I remember one of my opponents had a deck built around it and other scary green cards like Defense of the Heart. It was really good (I think it was even Standard legal at the time).

    A New Kind of Game!!!

Looks like I'll just have to pretend I have the slightest idea of what you're talking about (I don't watch TV really and don't know who those people are).

    The Question Game!

I have no idea. Was I just using that answer in order to perpetuate its use in this thread even further, or do I really not know what color my own toothpaste is?

    Fake Card: Nether Faerie

It was post 6th. edition rules anyway, but I'd still like a definitive answer on this one, since I am totally not remembering which one of you would be right...

    Fake Card: Fumigation, Colorless Instant!!

I didn't mean that they should have been restricted in Standard or something like that. I just meant that the fact that even though cards from the affinity deck were banned, eight of them were banned with the explanation that they were not fun. Without going into whether or not that was a good...

    Colorless spells

Exactly. But Withering Boon only counters creature spells. Black already has the best creature removal in the game. Withering Boon is not awful, but it can't hope to compete with black's creature-killing spells. I would have liked to have seen Withering Boon be able to counter any spell...

    Ice Cave Deck.

You can't really do it with Ice Cave. But if you meant that you generally can't lockdown everyone in multiplayer--I have seen it done with Winter Orb, Smokestack, and Zur's Weirding...

    Fake Card: Devour, Green/creature killer

Sounds good, it won't bury the creature like Dark Banishing would (I know, they don't use that term anymore). But it is potentially very good against green, which makes up for it...
