Homestar, can you really not find any Spirit Links? It's been reprinted in every core set since 4th edition. It should be easy to get a playset of them and they're great cards anyway--especially with Ageless Entity.

I don't consider it to be an "interpretation." Lands are cards both in reality and in the rules of Magic. If you need a shorthand version of "non-land count" then perhaps "spell count"?
