My favorite way lately was to drag not one, but two of my opponents blastoderms into a starting contest with my lone Royal Assassin. I kept thinking "please don't attack."
I guess the royal reputation still holds some sway with people to the point they forget what they're playing with.

But for some time, I have always enjoyed having a couple of Longbow Archers on a Crusade, on my team.

Elvish Archers backed up by a Giant Growth is an unpleasant surprise for the other guy, too.
