Knowing I broke the 1-submission per person idea...

I submitted...

Creatures can't be the target of abilities.
Players can't be the target of spells.

During your upkeep, each opponent may draw a card.
You can't be the target of spells or abilities.
This can't be the target of spells or abilities.

During each players draw step, they may choose to skip their first and second main phase. if they do, they can't be the target of spells or abilities until their next upkeep.

And some other targetting ones...

but I never saw a place to put my name?...

Interesting effects. I like the first one the best. Succinct, lean, and good. Maybe on a cantrip that costs a mere 2 or something?

That would be nice.

The problem is that these seem more a white ability. Artifacts are a bit tricky because you have to remember that they automatically splash. Some of these are a bit too good in blue.

Hard part of making artifacts is balancing out the "color." The ability I was thinking fits along the lines of Null Rod.

I haven't submitted a card yet but I was thinking about this one.

Weak/Broken?

Ok in one on one match-ups and it gets stronger in Multi-player.

For each opponent you have, your spells cost 1 less to play.

;)

not very original.....:(

That's a little interesting, if not original. It would be cool to see cards that have a nearly pure casual use to them.

How about:

[THIS] comes into play tapped. At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player draws a card for each opponent he or she has, then discards that many cards.

Heh...this would be cool. Or, to alter it a bit...

When [this] comes into play, put X energy counters on [this], where X is the number of opponents you have. At the end of each player's turn, that player draws cards equal to the number of energy counters on [this].

Sweet deal....

I've been trying to think of a design text that would be good
enough for tournament play and grow stronger in casual games.

The second idea you suggested seems interesting. Its almost a
Howling Mine in duel matches and grows in a MP game. You
should submit that one.

Side note:
It might be interesting to get a few opinions for past/present
tournament players to get there impression of what makes a
"good" tournament level Artifact. I think we would all agree
Cursed Scroll and Masticore were/are powerful Artifacts but
we need a balanced idea to start with.(opinion)

Has anyone else submitted their idea yet?

I've got four ideas I'm trying to choose from, knowing I can only submit one. It's a tough decision, but I think I've got it narrowed down to one of two.

Nevermind. I went ahead and submitted my Worldforge:

T, discard a card, pay 1 life: Until end of turn, whenever a spell is countered, its caster may put a copy of that spell on the stack.

that's an awesome ability...

sucks to be blue...

I'd run one or two in every deck...:D

When a creature is put into the graveyard from play, its controller removes all cards that share a converted mana cost with it in his or her graveyard from the game.

Do spaces count for the 140-character limit? Otherwise this is fine.
(I'm submitting this.)

It has other, more subtle applications, too.

ME: Shock your guy.
OPPONENT: In response, Unsummon my guy.
ME: Okay. *taps, pays 1 life, discards in response* In that case, I get another Shock.

Notice that it doesn't specify that the spell has to be countered by spells or abilities.

I submitted this:

Permanents now untap during the untap steps of players who do not control them, but not during the untap step of their controller.

That's kind of like the seedbornmuse... except you don't untap during your turn... and of course it doesn't die to a wrath or dark banishing...

Sure does weaken Instants, though.

"At the end of your turn, I...crap, wait, I won't untap. I...do nothing."

So I wait until the end of MY turn to play my whatever so that I can untap later. But I also have to use that time to play creatures/enchantments/sorceries/artifacts. Bleah.

High marks for originality. That said, I dislike it.

it would probably become an unglued card... just think about the rules you could screw up if you just posted a conflicting card.
