Clearly, JP was leading low trump to ditch the trick because he wasn't expecting the first. But with everyone except JP and rkoelsch bidding 0, does it really surprise anyone that JP was taking the trick at that point? :D

You know, there is a slight variant that would keep that from happening. I've played before where the final bid cannot cause the total bid to be exactly enough for everyone to make their bid. At least one person will be set every time.

Tyipcally, this causes at least 3 people to miss instead because people start playing differently in order to make something that they really didn't want to bid. :D

I didn't say that everyone winning was a bad thing... :)

But we could try that variant next - at least I wouldn't mind to.
