I'm gonna finish up since the rest is pre-ordained (i.e. TomB has a diamond so he has to play it).

He plays the 6 of Diamonds

(EricBess breathes a sigh of relief at not having to take that trick.)

And EricBess curses while train grins with glee at not having to take a trick with his Wizard.

what the freak just happened?!...

the only way I didn't take the trick was someone wizarding in front of me and it was the next to last person... I knew what it would take to happen, but for it to actually happen?!...

Yeah, that was bad luck on EricBess's part on having to take a trick with the 4 of Diamonds... very unexpected.
