Warhammer Quest: The Sylvan Epic

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
With no threats to distract them, Throg, Dorgath, and Carrow arrange themselves around the frozen mummy. Tomas and Kelgar stand back and augment the three of them with magic and blessings. Jekaena moves in behind Tomas and uses her own magic to strengthen the Warriors. As soon as the ice prison melts away from the undead monster, it is battered by a barrage of attacks from three directions. No one is sure who struck the finishing blow, and the mummy's body absorbs several more hits as it falls to the floor. What appears to be a dessicated corpse is deceptively robust, as blows that seem capable of smashing the body to dust only succeed in putting large dents in it. Throg comes to understand how the other mummy was able to headbutt him earlier, even through his awesome helmet. These things are supernaturally tough, somehow.

While that is going on, Ty and Revaethan commence to searching the bodies. They do not find anything of value, but Ty spots some gear shoved into the rubble on the other side of the bridge...

Ty will cross over the bridge and check out the shiny, ready for combat and looking for traps, doors, bad guys, etc...🥳

The bridge is surprisingly more robust than it looks, and crossing it is easy for everyone. Ty leads the way and remains alert, but no threats emerge. Tomas examines the items that were tucked into the rubble pile...

Staff of Osiris: Once per turn, can be used to launch a beam that deals 1D6+3 damage with no modifiers for armor to everything in a straight line. Each time this item is used, roll a D6. On a 1, the staff's power becomes depleted and it is destroyed. Worth 800 gold.
Blade of Leaping Bronze: +2 Attacks. Worth 450 gold.
Codex of the Magus:
Can be used to learn new spells. Worth 200 gold per spell.

Tomas would probably take the Codex, logically. Could Kelgar use the Staff if he finds he can line a few up for a shot? Anyone else want it?

I've already got a Blade of Leaping Bronze...Anyone else want one?

So is there any exits on this side? I can't tell from the map what the big square thing is that looks like treasure

Oh no! It shouldn't look like treasure at all. It's rubble. A cave-in. On closer inspection, Dorgath can easily tell that it's a small, superficial cave-in. Perhaps it was done deliberately to block the exit. It would be easy to clear with a pick, but Dorgath didn't bring one...

If there doesn't appear to be another door anywhere around, it seems we'll be needing to move some rocks. How big are they?

They range in size. Most of them are small enough to move by hand, but they're wedged in with some bigger ones that are too heavy for that.

It seems that no one has a proper pick. Kelgar does have two warhammers, which might work, although they're somewhat awkward for the task at hand.

Could he use the Staff of Osirus on the rock pile? As a lever, if nothing else? I'd hate to ruin it on a pile of rocks, but if there's no other path do we have a choice?

I'll say that in combination with the warhammers to knock rocks loose and the staff as a lever, you could definitely make an opening large enough for everyone to pass through (single file), but that if you use this method, there's a small chance that the staff will break. Small-ish, anyway...
