~this~ attacks each turn if able. ; At the beginning of your upkeep, put a +1/+1 counter on ~this~. Then pay {X}, where X is equal to the number of +1/+1 counters on ~this~, or tap ~this~ and it deals X damage to you.

Cumulative Upkeep - {2} ; ~this~'s power and toughness are each equal to 1 plus its last paid cumulative upkeep.

~this~ comes into play with three +1/+1 counters on it. ; At the beginning of your upkeep, you may flip a coin. If you win the flip, add a +1/+1 counter to ~this~. If you lose the flip, remove a +1/+1 counter from ~this~.

I was hoping for it to become somthing like a Spike, as they tend to destribute counters, but I havn't been able to get through to the site for the past week or so!

What are the choices, or do they give choices? Could I submit a "Spike Ooze"? :D

I think that Spike would be the best, because if that happened, they'd probably give it the "2, Remove a counter: Put a counter" to keep it in flavor with the other spikes, then have the Massblast for free during the upkeep thrown in as a given.

Or mabe a fungus, since it keeps on growing... but the +1/+1 counter type of thing doesn't work too well... but I would like to see Fungi back as a crittertype. :[ )
There's too many "Beast" critters that should've been a Fungus, like Blastoderm, the Apoc PR card, and a few others. I'm also glad they're using Orgg as a creature type nowadays, too... :[ )

Hmmm... Spike Ooze...

With all the cross-race mutations in Invasion Block, that would be very interesting.

Spike Ooze LEGEND? :p

I don't like the idea of a 0/3 Spike. If 2/2 would've won, they could've made it a 0/0 Spike with 2 +1/+1 counters, but it didn't win.

I voted for Ooze for the same reasons rakso already mentioned :D

edit: yeah I hope they ask us if we want one or more additional creature types. :)

Creature - Spike Ooze Fungus Legend!!!!!!!!! o_0

Hey, the odds of them giving an Ooze a wussy name like "Spike Flytrap" is much lower.

Why did I vote Fungus? Because it seems more like a 0/3 to me. Like Thallids. A magic-absorbing Thallid. When it absorbs magic, it grows razor-sharp spikes or releases spores or something. ;)

I want some messy art here, something to give Thorn Elemental a run for its money.

Nooooo!!! Fungi like Spore Flower use counters to build up to some effect, and don't build up +1/+1s!

Don't tarnish the glory that was Fallen Empires! :p

I've just caught up on mtg.com, as I can now get through.

Well, I'm going with Ooze. It kinda makes sense, now, as the spikes don't really start with P/T, and the fungi don't, as you've said, Oscar(or should I say Rakso?) unless it's built up three counters for some action or time period.

Oozes build counters pretty much turn after turn, and then either eat your opponent or you.

Or just shrink away to nothing.

The distribution of the counters doesn't seem to be very good in conjunction with Ooze until I saw Ghostbusters ][][ again day before yesterday.

Y'know, that's some "happy ooze" they've got in those tubes, and the ooze that's around under the street seems to be Enraging Ooze.

Since green has gotten some "simi-red" emotional type of things(Elvis Fury), I'd say that an Enraging Ooze works well.

Hopfully the name will be more clever than that, though.

I imagine either the creatures being pissed off(to RANCOR) by the Ooze being on them or mabe just some kind of hardened shell from the ooze.

It still doesn't explain the 0/3 part of it, though.

The link didn't work for me just now, maybe it's related to those problems mentioned in the other thread.

But I like the Ooze idea. But more importantly :), I like Oozes (at least Primordial) combined with Spikes, especially, Spike Rogue(?) which can take them off and put them on. That'd keep the upkeep down a bit and let other Spikes get bigger. This could be a new deck for me... :)
