Unmasked and 307% Exposed

Hey all...it's been quite a while since I posted a new song. I was actually planning to stop posting a note every time I release a new track, but what the heck, I'm not hurtin' anyone. Besides, I do get 3 or 4 CPA listners every once in a while, so that's not bad either. (I know it's bad, but it's called "self denial") :D

Anyway, this is not a totally new track, it's like a completely updated version of another tune of mine, Masqueradia. This one is entitled "Masqueradia (Unmasked and Exposed version)," and it was mainly dedicated to my brother, who is a complete (307%) a$5hole. He's *so* stupid, that he thought this dedication is a good thing...well it's not! This version also contains my Indian chants, and ethnic flute and drums -- if you ever wanted to hear what I'm about, this a pretty good chance. :p

For a month now, I have been working on a second track entitled "Contra Norma," Latin for "to be opposite of the norm," or "opposing the norm." Contra Norma will, if I want it to, get me a record deal at Arista or Virgin records, and I'm so confident of it...it is that single track that separates *real* artists from the ones that just do it for the money or do it without passion and devotion. When it's out, you'll be the first to be notified, and those who listen to it will get to hear (and feel) what I mean...it's a "big thing," I promise. :D

Now, enough of this completely shameless self-promoting, and I'll let you ignore this, or have a listen...whatever you wanna do...thank you anyway...

Here's the link for "Unmasked and Exposed" in case you, for some reason, decide to take a listen :))):

...I forgot to say some backing story that may help you see where I drew my inspiration for Masqueradia. This is interesting even if you're not interested in the song at all.

I dreamt of a machine, specifically called the "Exposer." I was sitting in front of a big theater, attached to this "Exposer," it's a very, very futurisitic looking machine -- with a very, very thin needle that digs through one's head and reaches into the brain. In the brain, it plants "something" that will enable huge amounts of audience to view all your thoughts, desires, emotions, wishes -- *everything* possible about you. So I was attached to this machine, with my hands forcefully chained behind my back. I could not move. I was in a position so I am to see what the "Exposer" is projecting. It was like a show...a very, very big show, where I sat in the very front all by myself, and behind me sat 10s of thousands of people. The greatly huge screen played my every thought, wish, and desire, against my will -- and I was forced to see it. I couldn't turn around or close my eyes, but in the dream, I knew everyone around was a stranger, I could not picture any of their faces -- they're all made out of shadows, and they *all* wore masks while closely and silently observing my being "exposed." They all looked alike, and no one spoke a word or even seemed a live. I don't remember fighting the "Exposer," but I do remember reaching a point of insanity...I was screaming very loud, and crying very warm...the screams were of hate and agony, but the tears were of joy and happiness...I cannot figure why that is yet...

I don't remember what the "Exposer" projected, but I know it played things that I didn't know myself, or things you just don't discuss around the dinner table with your family...

It's a very interesting dream, in my opinion, I wrote it down when I woke up, trying to recall every single detail about it...

Masqueradia is basically that moment of time...that dream...the fears I got back at the "Exposer," but the also the uncertain joy and happiness I felt...

Now, I don't "masquerade" or anything, but yeah, I do have things nobody knows about me...I think that dream is just too much...:) Some other person who's self-less could have used it, in my opinion. ;)

I also have a dream about Contra Norma, and it's even more interesting...it was almost like a continuation of the "Exposer" dream, but on a way different theme...I'll speak of it when the time is right. :)

Hey there DÛkeling!

Well... once again it seems like I'm going to be the first (next to you) and most likely only person to post about your music again. Unlike Haunting Echoes, I didn't have to listen to the music over and over and over again to get pictures this time.

I liked the added voice-like thingies (technical terms, I'm well aware.... don't mock me!) The sound isn't dark, but dark images always float through my mind. I enjoy the break that happens during the middle of the song, which was one of the things I enjoyed in the original version of Masqueradia. This version is so much more.... ...filled with suspense, longing, indulgence....

The beginning for one thing is much more intense, right off that bat. The original seems like a prologue compared to a novel, where as this version seems like you're plunged head-first into the story. However, I do miss one thig in the newer version, the beat sounds more like a heart beat in the original, which I find enthralling and filled with symbolism.

The unmasked version seems like a masqueraide (I'll just assume you spelled it correctly, my brain is quite tired tonight). If you'll remember you reccomended that one enigma video with a masqueraide in it, right? I see that video with your music in it (with the emotional hits moved to fit your music of course). This music is dark, but not dark, light hearted but veiled in mystery. Can't you see the people moving around? Its like a haunted mansion...

On a completely different note, our computer recently had a virus (dammit all) and it wiped out everything! Including all your old and new songs I had on my compter, argh!!!

Well, I won't review on acid, because... well... no one would see my review :D

Until next time.

...that was like, the best review *ever*! I get so many reviews, but they all speak with technical terms, some even speak with such a notable void. I rarely get an email or a review that talks about the feeling of the music itself! That was great.

Hehe...I'm still getting emails about the inverted Cross from my other last track, asking me to remove it...AND...

...replace it with a burning American flag.

Uh, yeah...with everyone knowing how such a Muslim I am, I'm sure a burning American flag would score me great points with every single American out there...

...the minds of some people...huh...

Thanks for that great review Ademis!

Not bad at all, and it's pretty relaxing, really.

Then again, I'll relax to Black Sabbath's PAranoid album, so that point is moot.l

One thing I'd like is to have the songs on .mp3, as I can listen to them offline, too...

Can you send me a list of your other works, DUke? I do indeed enjoy them.

I can't really get into this song. I found it pretty boring, and the sounds didn't seem too coherent to me. I had a hard time paying attention to it while I was listening to it, which is about the opposite feeling I have while listening to your other songs.

:(

...s**t! I went to Acid Planet again today, and my song is still in te top 10 in the over all charts! Wow...It's been like that ever since I posted this thread...and some of the reviews really are encouraging. Wow...

Orgg, *there is* an MP3. But you have to register to get it. It's free, quick, and easy...and you don't have to be an artist. Nobody will notice you at all, unless you post a song. All you do is click on "Download," and you'll get the file as MP3.

Gerode, I understand that feeling. I sometimes lose touch with my on songs, so I can completely relate to your situation. However, like I said, I have a song (yes, it's a song with vocals) -- Contra Norma, which you've already heard the blueprints for as "Paradox," it's way better now...and it's around 4 minutes, wiht vocals, ethnic drums, flutes...just really beautiful. Before Contra Norma, I'll post Ecstacy -- which is probably the sexiest song you'll hear for quite a while. :) (Think very light breathy womans breathy voices floating in the background, combined with ultra feminine, angelic vocals.) It's gonna be one heck of an erotic experience...:p

Hehe...
