Hello CPA ´ers!
Long time since my last visit, but now I need some advice, and I think that the CPA Community would be the right place to ask...
Wizards have finally made my favourite format popular (that is type 1.5), so I´m wondering if I should play tourney at saturday... if only I can make this rogue deck work.
We have had one type 1.5 tourney before. Sligh and Different survivaldecks were dominating, so I guess these will be the most impoortant matchups. I lost big time with stasis. My new idea is some combo-survival:
12 forest
4 bayou
4 wooded foothills
2 windswept heath
4 wild growth
4 overgrowth
4 survival of the fittest
2 shallow grave
4 corpse dance
4 fyndhorn elves
2 elvish lyrist
1 elvish scrapper
1 rofellos
2 llanowar druid
1 wood elves
4 spike feeder
2 caller of the claw
1 deranged hermit
1 triskelion
1 squee
The trick is to have at least 5 landmana on table, llanowar druid on top of graveyard, and play corpse dance. This can be done an infinite number of times, and I will then play caller of the claw with an infinite number of bears. All in opponents end of turn phase. With 6 mana I can make infinite mana, and deal infinite damage with triskelion, or take infinite life with spike feeder.
Survival should make it possible to get the right creatures in hand/graveyard. Of course lyrists, scrapper and deranged hermit are there for general annoyance
. Wood elves is nice, since I dont have that much black mana, but I´m not sure hes worth it.
But I´m not used to this kind of deck, and havent really been updated after the newer expansions (since onslaught or so). Did I miss some good creatures with sac-ability? Preferably green, black or artifact, but I guess it would be possible to include a third color. Does there exist some creature with tutoreffect? Maybe a creature which you can sac to mill opponent?
I´m considering mindless automaton to draw cards myself, or wall of much for the same reason, but I dont think they will work.
Control would probably be a lost game anyway...
Should I play living wish? Or vampiric tutor?
Is this deck playable at all? I´m not getting up early to get beaten...
Hope someone has some ideas
EDIT: I guess Nicol Bolas is worth a try. Maybe instead of deranged hermit.
