Any way to use this in an elf deck with an Intruder Alarm to produce an unlimited amount of U mana to play your drake and bounce him?

Just a thought to mill your opponent for 3 x 10000

Two elves in play + Wirewood Channeler + Intruder Alarm.
You need two Drakes, by the way.

Drake #1 shows up. Everybody untaps.
Tap for UUU, play Drake #2. Drake #1 bounces, everyone untaps.
Tap for UUU, play Drake #1. Drake #2 bounces, everyone untaps.
Tap for UUU, play Drake #2. Drake #1 bounces, everyone untaps.

Etc. When you're good and ready, Brain Freeze for a lot, then weep as your opponent reshuffles every time Gaea's Blessing shows up.

OR you could run the good version with Birds of Paradise and Shrieking Drake......

Don't forget the bubble matrix....

You only need one.

You just stack your alarms effect on top, then the drakes. Bouncing the drake to your hand, and taking off with everything else... or do I have it wrong again? Lemme download my updated comp. rulings from crystalkeep first to make sure.

I seem to remember in the days of Invasion that Mr. Sparkcaster was able to do his damage, then bounce himself back to your hand just by manipulation of the coming abilities.

But then again, you get extra mana all the same, while pumping that # of spells played during your turn thing. Lemme check: drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce drake, add to spells, untap, bounce, drake, add to spells, untap, bounce..........

Oh my..... Brainfreeze would surely hurt like a mo'fo... Tendrils of Agony and Hunting Pack? 1 bazillion 4/4 tokens in play? or 2 bazillion life loss/gain?

"Hey kid, wanna see a neat trick?"
410.10a - Comes-into-play abilities trigger when a permanent enters the
in-play zone. These are written, "When [this card] comes into
play, ..." or "Whenever a [type] comes into play, ..." Each time an
event puts one or more permanents into play, all permanents in
play (including the newcomers) are checked for any comes-into-play
triggers that match the event. [CompRules 2003/07/01]
So, in other words its all stacked as one event? so:

Drake comes into play...
Checking....
Drake targets itself for bouncing, Intruder Alarm say's he's come into play, etc, etc...
Resolve...
Drake Bounces, Intruder Alarm untaps everything...

418.2 - Continuous effects that modify characteristics of permanents do so
simultaneously with the permanent coming into play. They don't wait until
the permanent is in play and then change it. Because such effects apply
as the permanent comes into play, apply them before determining whether
the permanent will cause an ability to trigger when it comes into play.
[CompRules 2003/07/01]
Wait, wait, wait, wait.... So I do need two because the coming into play ability of the drake would resolve before it even triggers the Intruder Alarm.

But then again, he already came into play, and triggered the alarm...

G3.18c - When a permanent comes into play, first apply any replacement
effects, then apply continuous effects, then check to determine if the
current form of the permanent generates any triggered abilities.
But again we see that the bounce effect would be placed on the stack beforehand, and then the triggered ability of the Intruder Alarm would go on too... So it would still resolve because the creature did in fact come into play, and the Alarm doesn't care if it left play right after it came into play.

Train, Sefro, where art thou when I need thy guidance?

Sorry man, but you did too much homework for what is a simple question.

Read the Timid Drake again. It has no coming into play abilities at all. It triggers on ANOTHER creature coming into play.

Thus you need two Drakes, because the first one won't bounce until you cast the second one, and the second one won't bounce until you recast the first.

Of course, shrieking drake and a BOP gets the job done even simpler.

And don't forget the Bubble Matrix!

whuh? Lemme read that article I got.

Crap, the little retard was wrong, he cross posted the man-0-war ability and the drakes abilities. Oh well.

Well, forget the drake, lets beef it up by bringing in something like Palinchron then.

Palinchron
5UU
Type: Blue Creature - Illusion
Non-Foil Rare
Artist: Matthew Wilson
Edition: UY

Flying
When Palinchron comes into play, untap up to seven lands.
2UU: Return Palinchron to owner's hand.
Now throw in a couple of Krosan whatchamacallits and you get yourself a couple extra mana to tap while he's casting, and get to use your savings bouncing him back. So, in otherwords you get something for pretty much nothing.

I'll keep throwing these out of date, and probably already used strategies out for you guys to consider for T2 and your casual affairs.

I keep telling ya!

SHRIEKING DRAKE. It only costs 1 AND it bounces itself. YEESH!

It won't get simpler than that.

If you wanted something as big as Palinchron you could just roll with Mana Flare or High Tide and go infinite that way.

Timid Drake
2U
Type: Blue Creature - Drake
Non-Foil Uncommon
Artist: Edward P. Beard, Jr.
Edition: MM

Flying
Whenever another creature comes into play, return Timid Drake to its owner's hand.

It flees from anything that isn't shaped like a cloud.
Would it flee from a cloud djinn I wonder...

Mercadain Masques to boot. Could be hard to find for me.

I'll look for them. I've got to post my trade list up here anyways.

Oh, and I was thinking about a new age neo Black/Green Artifact deck... Just don't know what to build it around yet.
