Timeline

I think this is a good time now to look back at the history of Magic and see what we have gone through and experienced. I want to make a timeline with all the major events that changed the course of magic. Please give the date if at all possible. I would first of all like to include the split cards, which is a totaly new concept. Also, first T2 pro tour and that kind of stuff. LAter i will make a timeline of it.

well, you can start with the creation of magic back in 1993 since without that we wouldn't be here now.
The formation of the DCI and things like the B&R lists are big ones too, though I don't remember the dates for sure.

i think you should also add the foils and the shading of expansion symbols to denote rarity.

and when each mechanin was introduced and how longit lasted...

If possible, for each time period you mention, you could show the deck that dominated at the time, like Necro in summer of '96 (OK, so it has something to do with tournaments, but so do bannings and restrictions... I use 2 Windfalls in my permission deck and nobody yells at me because I don't use it for broken purposes)....
