Time to download something

How long do y'all think it'll take for a 56K dial-up to download a 116 MB file? I remember it was taking about an hour or something to d/l 10 MB, is this worth it? Should I get a friend who has a cable modem to d/l and burn it? :D

It's a demo of a game (can't remember what, if anyone's interested I'll look it up).

If it's a demo of the game, you rpobably shouldn't waste 12 gours downloading it. A good idea would probably be to get a friend with a burner to burn it for you (and hopefully something else on the CD).

CD-RW drives are awsome for burning/reburning files like that IF:

1) You have a friend that will DL and burn stuff for you.
2) Your drives are agreeable, since CD-RWs seem to be really picky about when they will and won't work.
3) You both have RW drives, since a normal drive won't read a RW, unless it's one of the oddball new ones.

Well, I'm pretty sure I have an agreeable friend (I haven't asked him yet, but he's done stuff like this for me before).

And I'm pretty sure our CDs are compatible; he's burned stuff for me before and it's worked.

So I guess I'll ask him. :)
