I agree with you Oversoul, unless there is another way to give it a counter, I will not run it in any of my decks. My only point was that in the pre-release, I bet it will be seen. Also, any type of draft done with this set will also utilize the card. (at least I would in a 40 card deck).

Are there any cards in Standard that take advantage of lands or cards in your hand? Obviously in Vintage you have Seismic Assault, Empyrial Armor, etc... just not sure about Standard.

Or other cards that it can be discard fodder to...

Some of the new cards from Coldsnap take advantage of cards in hand..but only colored. Like the White W drop creature. Sac it and reveal X white cards in your hand. Gain X times 3 life. But nothing I seen with lands.

There are also a few cards that allow you to pitch lands to pay some part of thier cost, so maybe this card can be utilized for that as well.

Compulsive Research and Last Rites come to mind... but... it's not really something all that great.
