In turn, I will cast Magma Jet (scrying 2 and putting on on the bottom of my library) on the Omenspeaker. So he and the Boar blocked by the Merfolk die, and you take 2 from the unblocked Boar.

Doh! Nope, no response... I was hoping to outrace you before you drew a direct damage spell. And actually, from my scry, I was going to draw Volcanic Geyser, do an alpha attack, and hopefully finish you off next turn (barring this draw, of course). Good game! That Curse of the Swine turned it around, after I had gotten the game stabilized from all of those early hits with my (potentially) Monstrous creatures...

Onto the next!

Couldn't this game have been won much earlier with an alpha strike the turn you got Spidey down to 1 life?

It could have, but I had a Magma Jet to take out one of the attackers (which he wouldn't have known about, obviously). I was actually hoping he'd do it so he'd leave himself open to my counter-attack on my turn. Which is probably why he didn't want to attack and just wanted to finish me off with the Crackling Triton when it got back to his turn.

Exactly why I did it that way, the downside (and Spideys trickery) was huge and he had to deal with the Crackling Triton somehow or lose, so that took his resources from my fantastic drawing ability.......:eek:
I knew it was gonna be over in a turn or two since we both had direct damage....
Yeah Curse of the swine is a bomb.
Good race in that one.

I was extremely lucky in that the Magma Jet scry was able to get me the Lightning Strike to deal with the Crackling Triton, otherwise it would have been game over the next turn. Scry=some good! :)
