Baskil and Yellowjacket:
What is with you guys? I never said we have to be starting a war with WotC or be burning Hurloon Minotaurs on their front steps. Just because there is no CRISIS going on doesn't mean we just sit back and be lazy all of a sudden. If some people are happy with everything, then fine, sit back and relax, and most of all, enjoy, thats why we're here after all. But your thinking I'm talking militant when I'm trying to be friendly suggestive.

Baskil:
No, I haven't had my head in the sand, if you had read everything I've said you'd see that I complimented the new sets and freely admit that Invasion is my favorite set in years.
Look at the numbers that Spiderman has presented, do you really think the CPA on its own accomplished the greatness of the new sets, of course not. We are too few to have that great an influence.
Yes, we are getting what we want, but its not just us. Just because we're getting it doesn't make the direction of the CPA pointless now. There is always some suggestion that can be made, and I think that as a representative orginization of casual players in magic we have the ability to make these suggestions. Even I have no complaints for WotC right now, which is rare and very nice, but I can always think of ideas and suggestions for them.
Just because we have the horse facing in the right direction doesn't mean we smack its rear and hope it runs in a straight line. We ride the horse or walk with it to give it guidance when its needed.

Back on topic:

Have I spammed?
Yes, once or twice when I first joined way back when.

Can I police myself? police is such a harsh word, more like, Can I show responsibility in posting?
Either way, yes, absolutely.

does it matter that people are spamming the boards?
Yes it does.
To me spam is something that shows up as completely pointless and off topic in a thread. If you want a thread called Sex Monkey's and Llama Farts, then go ahead, if thats what the thread is about, fine by me. But if somebody is having an important disscussion like in this thread and someone posts,
"I think sex monkey's are hot and Llama farts taste great!"
and thats it, then I consider that spam.
I also think that the Hey ~whoever~, I'm bored, I've got XxXx posts!, and the like threads to be spammy. I don't have to read them, but they still clutter the Forums.

Am I intelligent enough to sift?
Of course, I do it all time as is. I just don't go into threads that I don't have any interest in.

1.) Do you, personally, think you've 'spammed' on these boards before? And, if so, do you think it's wrong?

Yes, when I was drunk. But this was only a couple of times, and all the other posts of mine were "on topic".

2.) Do you believe that you are capable of 'policing' yourself from spamming over abundantly, or, at all?

Absolutely. I think spam is a waste of bandwidth, and since the persons who spam don't usually pay for that bandwidth, then spam is really bad. But then again, what's the definition of spam?

3.) Does it matter to you that people on these boards are spamming? If so, please share with us what YOU consider spamming and what YOU think others should talk about.

I generally have no problem with people posting just for the sake of posting, that being the case with 99% of the posts in the Off-topic and Battle Arena sections. But I these forums were originally created for spam, so it's ok as long as Magic-related forums don't get contaminated with "I'm bored, let's talk" posts.

4.) Do you believe that YOU are intelligent enough to sift out the benign threads from the informative threads?

I don't know :)

Yes, when I was drunk...
Heh... I don't need alcohol to get me to "spam"... oh wait, maybe that's not something to be proud of... :D

What you are saying is correct. However, the problem is not with the spammers, or the people who genuinely add to the topic at hand. The problem is with the moderators. Spam is only a problem if the moderators are lax. So, the crusade should be to get stronger moderation on these boards, because asking kindly doesn't stop people from spamming, obviously(just look at the debacle Y!Clubs turned into over the last few months).
