The Ultimate Singleton Garbage Draft (New Thread)

Old thread here. Read up to catch yourself up.

Here's the idea. We do another Ultimate Draft. Except this time, we try to draft the worst deck possible in order When we're finished, we play another tournament to see who drafted the worst deck.

However, you will not be playing with the deck you draft. You and your opponent will exchange and play with the other's deck. That way, you're trying to beat your own deck.

These are the rules that had been previously suggested.

Each deck needs to be 60 cards, no larger or smaller.
Each deck must have at least 24 creatures.
There must be 20, no more, no less. These land will be "Utopia" lands: basic lands which can tap for any color mana. This will allow decks that drafted 5-colors to actually function without fear of mana screw.

I'd like to get this going soon.

Eh.... I'm not sure. In retrospect, it seems like it would be even less consistent of a draft than before. Nah, I personally like the idea of having to draft from everything...

...though I think there needs to be a cap on how many creatures can have 2 or less power.

It seems to me that if there's "Utopia" lands, you might as well give everyone 20 of them from the get-go and just set the draft limit at 40.

Why should there be a limit on the 2 or less power creatures? Just draft and see what happens...

I'm in if that's not obvious :)

If we don't set a cap, then players can merely draft nothing but 0-power creatures, effectly giving their deck no way to win (unless we don't do the every card format). I'd like to have each deck have the possibility to win and the player's be the ones to make that happen, but having no power in your deck (or a deck filled with defender creatures) will make this endeavor a pain in the ass.

If we Rochester draft, then there will not be that problem. Players will be stuck with some good creatures.

It's way to easy to draft a useless deck from all possible cards....

You could let everyone make up their own draft packs (Since they will only be getting 2 of those cards.... Would be interesting to see what other players think are bad cards..... just make it have to be at least 8 creatures and at most 1 land.

That's an interesting idea. Okay! Let's do that!

If we do that, we should have 4 packs per player, and we should create 32 unique packs (we can assign 4 sets per player and have each player design a pack from each set's cardpool).

We need 5 more peoe. Don't be shy, CPA faithful!

Yeah, I thought the idea was do choose the "worst" cards.

But the booster idea is fine too.

That is the case, but the decks needs to be playable. It's either give us Limited packs or set a limit on low power cards.

What do you propose, Spidey?

I agree with Ransac, Gatherer says that there are 263 creatures with 0 power. Now some of these are Graft creatures or have other ways to win, but in the end that looks like there are enough to go around. To be perfectly honest, if we don't do a limited format, I think we are all good enough to make basically unplayable unwinable decks. Which doesn't sound like a lot of fun to play.

Limit of 1:0 powered creature per pack.
How about if the pack you set up is started by the person next in line to draft, this way you are the last one to draft from your own packs....

Kind of like, you cut the cake in half and I pick which half I want.......

I personally don't have the time or concentration to participate, but that won't stop me from putting in my two cents.

Why not just disallow all zero-power creatures?

Hey guys, I've been looking at this thing again and I'd like to see who'd be interested in it.
