Anyone catch it last night?

If so what do you think about Bobby leaving...

The lady standing trial for murder, and then having the witness' baby...

The other "couple" whom were both fugitives(one with plastic surgery done)...

The Eugene and Jamie(?) romance kindling...

The going out for a drink by Bobby and the Mrs...

Anyone?...

To be honest, I stopped watching The Practice a while back. It's not that it started to get boring, per se, as it started introducing too much of a "soap opera" feel with Bobby flirting with an affair and Lindsey suspicious and/or asking for divorce...

They've always been interested in the lives of the people in the show in addition to the courtroom drama, but when it gets to the point where the stuff happening outside of the legal gets more screentime than the storylines...

And Bobby leaving is hardly a surprise. They've been building up to that for two seasons now.

I usually watch it with the Mrs.

It just seemd good last night, especially in the surprise ending of the second half...

The flashbacks were cute too...

I've watched the Practice for some time and it's been going downhill for a while now. I'm afraid that if they bring it back, it will just be doing what so many other shows have done and been really really bad their final season before they pull it for good.

Does this mean that there will be NO David Kelly programs on the air? Could it be? No, wait Boston Public is still out there...

"It just means we'll have a lull between David Kelly lawyer shows..."

In a statement Monday, Kelley attributed the departures to "economic and creative realities." The license fee ABC pays for the show reportedly has been cut about in half, to about $3.5 million per episode.

"It hurts, professionally and personally," said Kelley, who produces the show with 20th Century Fox Television. "This is perhaps the finest group of actors and people one could ever hope to work with."

ABC said it supported the changes and was "sorry to see these talented cast members leave the show."
Of course they support the changes - They're saving 3.5 million per episode...

If you say so, train. But keep in mind that the show was going strong for quite some time and they brought on cast members during that time period. If the network has cut their budget, it is only because the show isn't bringing in as much as it used to. As I've mentioned previously, my personal preference would be that they just write in a good ending episode, wrap things up, and go off the air.

Nearly every show that cuts cast like this is off the air the next year anyway.

I think they could get out of the "lives" as much, and would have a better ratings showing. People started watching it for the Court room drama anyway...

If it has to go... so be it...

The Practice Downsizes for Next Season
I can deal w/ this. The same thing happened to LA Law - two years later it was off the air; and, this was back when the average American viewer had an attention span longer than ten seconds...
