What's with this? I've recently been trying to find Inquest, but i can't find it anywhere....

It used to be at game stores,book stores, and everywhere else, but now it gone......


Has anyone else noticed this?:confused:

No, I haven't had any problems getting it. I just got the October issue about 2 weeks ago(not that it was worth it, they decided to put a complete updated oracle list for every magic card, so the actual contents were less than half it's normal size), the comic shop here still gets them the first week of every month.

You only got the October issue??

I got the November Issue a few days ago. They got rid of Cow Nose, and some other stuff, but they have a great new section called OnDeck which tells about upcoming games.

Anyway, I haven't seen any Inquests in stores recently, but I have a subscription, so It does'nt really matter. You can probably order them off their site, www.wizardworld.com

I got a new one at Hastings a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember which one it was, but it mentioned the disappearance of Cow Nose.

Does anyone here actually copy the decks from inquest?? I like the magazine because it is NOT made by WOTC so they can make fun of whatever games they want. I never would copy a deck out of it or use their top 100 list...I even sent Emails to them asking for an explination for the top one hundred list where suffocating blast placed higher then absorb, birds, or rage! So yeah, ive had no trouble finding the inquests....I buy them so I can read them... not follow advice

My friend has a bunch of old ones and he's trying to copy some decks... I was going to put some in the Deck forum when I got my hands on them.

Perfect.

one of their issues had a "successful tournament playing" article in it. One of the tips was to be able to recite your decklist from memory with what all of the cards' texts were.

They had an example of "bad play" at the start of the article, and at the end an example of "good play."

In the "good play" they had their "perfect" player cast a portent at the end of his opponent's turn. What happened? Nothing.

What would've happened in a tournamnet?

I meant the one that came out in Oct., so I guess that's the November issue. Anyway, Inquest is pretty bad, but hey they are occassionally funny(although it was much better before Rick Swan left), and even when they're not trying they can end up being pretty funny(like just about any of the top 10 lists they put out for each new expansion) I especially laughed at the Nemesis list, which had Rath's Edge as the sets worst card, when it was actually not too bad.

I tried to get an interview with Rick Swan, but that Tom guy was a BIG oinkhole in his response. It is your civil duty, CPA, to NOT perchase surplus Inquests! They said noone cared about out "Fansite"

Yes, that Tom Slizewski is a total oinkhole! I sent him an Email asking how their top 100 cards (the one with suffocating blast higher then absorb, rage, or birds) And he answered me like a real jerkoff! He acted like I was a complete idiot and that their lists come from stores all over the U.S.... I wish I knew of a store that sold me absorbs and rages for less then suffocating blasts...

For amusement, mind you. It's funny, mainly because the mag tries to act like it knows what it's talking about when it's actually as clueless as most newbies. Inquest blunders can fill a book. Heck, they should actually make a book of compiled Inquest blunders just so we can buy it and have a good laugh.

Some that I remember:

1. They called Shivan Dragon a 5/5 flier that can be pumped for +1/+1.

2. They said that Dream Halls was the worst card in Stronghold.

3. They said Juzam Djinn was a 5/5 flier.

Who put Tom in charge of letters anyway? They should put Cow Nose in charge. She'd do a better job than him... :D

They said that a killer combo was to Rancor a BLASTODERM so you could have a 7/5 UNTARGETABLE creature with trample and you'd get your rancor back at the end... How stoopid can they be?

Maybe by this time, they know they're the butt of jokes and have now pretty much written the mag as a "tongue-in-cheek" thing? Like they put the errors there on purpose? ;)

I'm just speculating....
