What in the hell did she do anyway??????she didnt work..she had no job.....so why in the hell did they hire a maid???im tellling you taht they couldnt have afforded it. my dads an architect and we are dirt poor. i know for a fact that there is no money in architecture but the brady's still lived the high life...im thinking that alice (the maid) really helped them sell drugs..see alice grew the stuff, the mom packed it and the kids distributed it at school. that is how they got all that money. its the only possible explanation.

Maybe they had another income source, like a trust fund/inheiritance or money from a previous job before he switched careers...

im telling you man...do you REALLY think that he had a trusst fund? come on...think about all the factors here. this guy was married BEFORE he met the blond haired mom (carol) if he had a trust fund or inheritance or even savings from a previous job..the ex wife would have gotten half or more of it when they got a divorce. that leaves him pretty much pennieless....

Same for the wife... maybe she got a big settlement in her divorce, or she had the trust fund, or whatever...

Both the Mr. and the Mrs. were widowed, which you find out in the "Wedding" piolet episode. Do you really think anyone is going to get a divorce in happy, shiney 60's TV-land? Hell no! So the writers just killed the significant others instead.

Perhaps both got big insurence checks and/or inheritances from thier dead spouces.

What always bothered me was the fact that all the kids, each with dead parents, just forgot about thier natural mother and father and imeadiatly started calling thier step-parents "Mom" and "Dad".

I always thought that was just wrong...

How long was their courtship? The theme song doesn't say (although it DOES imply it was quick) but maybe if it was "long enough" the kids felt comfortabel with each other.

Yeah, according to A Very Brady Sequel, I suppose you could say that. At least, Greg and Marcia certainly seemed to be pretty "comfortable" with each other.
